The conjunctiva has three layers: the epithelial layer containing blood vessels, fibrous tissue, and lymphatic channels; the adenoid layer consisting of fine connective tissue meshworks containing lymphocytes that develop after birth; and the fibrous layer with collagenous and elastic fibers that is thicker than the adenoid layer and lodges conjunctival vessels and nerves.

• LODGES THE CONJUNCTICAL VASSEL AND NERVES
