- #6 These hadn’t. Until last Friday. This is Eric and Carlos. Eric, who is a Navy Veteran himself with 2 children in the armed forces as we speak, challenged us to consider all of those people serving our country as we recited the pledge. And Carlos, who did the invocation, talked about the people who inspired him and encouraged him to become a leader. But what he did that was so cool, was he talked about the leaders duty to mentor. Find find their replacement. To seek people out and do for them what others had done for him. This is a guy who making his way up the chairs at the local level, fresh out of leadership training, addressing a couple hundred state directors. And you know what? He was absolutely right. You know what he mentioned as something that inspired him to accept when his peers nominated him to the invocation?
