What is Gesture language?
• Hand signitures is the main
communicating way, but it also
includes mouth position and body
language.

Who uses gestures?
• Formal:
1. People who are lacking the power of
hearing or having impaired hearing.
2. Police officers ,Millitary or S.W.A.T.
soldiers.
• Not formal
1. Everyone on daily basis , it‘s a part of
communicating threw body languege.
2. Travellers that doesn‘t speak foreign
languages.

A little bit of literature history
• Pedro Ponce de León (1520–1584):
developed first manual alphabet.
• Juan Pablo Bonet 1620: published a
book (Reduction of letters and art for
teaching mute people to speak)
• George Dalgarno 1680: published
Didascalocophus, or, The deaf and
dumb mans tutor.

Gestures languege uniqueness (my opinion)
• It‘s interesting how people in 1600s thought that gestures are
for dumb and savage people , but the languege we know now
started from manual modality.
• Even tough gestures aren‘t the same everywhere we would still
be able to communicate with foreign country‘s , by using not
formal gesture languege.
• When using gestures, rules of grammar remain the same.
