Princess Charlotte Is 'Already Bilingual': Is It Worth
Introducing A Second Language To Your Toddler?
● She is 2 years old
● The family’s nanny, teaches her spanish
● Mastered a numbers of spanish words
➢ Is she too young to learn words in another language?
Answer: No
Jade Braithwaite, who teaches babies French and Spanish said:
❏ It’s best to let them get exposure to another language as early as
possible.
❏ When teaching babies their first language, we will speak to them
constantly all day
❏ Exposing them to a second language works in the same way.
❏ Able to distinguish between the different sounds in different
languages
❏ Learning two languages won’t confuse them
❏ Increase their cognitive flexibility

A Multilingual Family in a Monolingual nation
● Australia is known for being multicultural nation.
● However it is not known for encouraging the use of
multiple languages.
● Australia had over 200 languages spoken within the
country.
● Yet, only 8% of high school students study a second
language.
● With multilingualism not widely encouraged, parents
choose to raise their children only speaking English.

Advantages of learning another language
● Broaden knowledge
● Transmit information easily without any barrier in different countries
● Communicate with a wider variety of people and races
● Increase job opportunities with better paid job
● Allow brain to focus and remember things more easily
● Have better understanding while communicating
Ways to learn another language --->
1. Don’t be afraid to make mistake (everyone do make mistake)
2. Be confident and speak out (don’t be shy)
3. Practice skills (write, speak, read & listen )
4. Set goals of learning
5. Get help from experts (teachers)

6. Watch video or movies in the subtitle
7. Download apps in phone (able to bring anywhere)
8. Learn by listening to audio
9. Learn the language grammar
10. Go for tuition classes
