Lance Armstrong was a professional cyclist who started racing at age 13 and went on to win the Tour de France 7 consecutive times between 1999-2005. However, in 2012 he confessed to doping, which led to him being banned from cycling for life and having his Tour de France titles stripped. While he achieved great sporting success, Armstrong is now primarily remembered for admitting to lying about his doping for many years.
