INTRODUCTION OF UNORGANIZED MARKET IN
INDIA
 Unorganized retailing, refers to traditional format of low cost retailing.
 Unorganized retailing is the most prolific and visible form of retailing in
India while the organized retailing constitutes only a very small percentage
 The reasons as to why Indian retailing is so fragmented or unorganized in
nature lies in her entrenched poverty and the fact that a large number of
educated unemployed.
 India is one of the largest emerging markets, with a population of over
one billion.
 In India, the most of the retail sector is unorganized. In India, the
unorganized business contributes around 11 percent of GDP. The
organized retail sector accounts only for about 3 percent share
INTRODUCTION OF LAL DARWAJA MARKET
 Ahmedabad was founded over the ancient settlement of Ashaval
in 1411 by Ahmed Shah I of Gujarat Sultanate. He built the first
citadel Bhadra Fort starting from Manek Burj.
 When the city expanded, Ahmed Shah built the second fort
which was later fortified by Mahmud Begada in 1486. Later that
whole area become famous as lal darwaja
 With lots of hawkers selling various items from clothes to
electronics items, Lal Darwaza is crowded yet one of the most
famous markets of Ahmedabad.
