● Kyotango City Board of Education is a school system in Japan that consists of 6 schools
including: Amino Junior High School, Tango Junior High School, Mineyama Junior High
School, Oomiya Junior High School, Yasaka Junior High School, Kumihama Junior High
School.
● The Board decided to be in collaboration with ELSA Speak to provide 441 students with
the English Language Pronunciation Training program to enhance their speaking skills.
● The program officially commenced on 18th of April, 2022 and will last for 3 years..
● During the implementation of the program, both the schools and ELSA Speak has been
integrating the school curriculum into the App, as well to holding many exciting activities
to bring the best learning experience to the students.

CURRICULUM INTEGRATION: During the last 8 months, Kyotango schools has been implementing
homework assignments to all students for lesson practice and review purposes. Students use ELSA
both in the classroom and at home, hence the improvement rate.

【授業者】
アプリの発音をまねることで、カタカナを振らずに発音
する生徒が増えた。繰り返し英文を読み発音すること
で、英文を読む力が以前よりついたように感じる。ダッ
シュボード(先生用機能)で学級の生徒の苦手な発音
が簡単に把握できるので、 AETと連携してポイントを
絞った発音指導が可能になった。
(Teacher) The number of students who pronounce English
sentences without reading phonetic symbols has increased
by imitating the pronunciation of the application. By reading
and pronouncing English sentences repeatedly, I feel that
the students' ability to read English sentences has improved.
The dashboard (a function for teachers) makes it easy to
identify the pronunciation difficulties of the students in the
class, so it has become possible to provide focused
pronunciation instruction in conjunction with native English
teacher.

前までは、自分の発音がいいのか、悪いのか全く分
からなかったけど、今は自分の苦手が分かってどん
どん発音がきれいになってきていると実感できる。
ゲーム感覚で取り組めるので、苦手だった英語が今
はとても楽しいし、AETの先生とたくさん話してみたい
と思えるようになった。教科書の本文を読むときに、
自信を持って言えるようになった。
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
(Students) Before, I had no idea whether my
pronunciation was good or bad, but now I know
what I'm struggling with and I can feel that my
pronunciation is getting better and better. I can
work on English as if it were a game, so I am now
enjoying English, which I was not good at, and I
want to talk a lot with the native english teachers. I
can now say with confidence when I read the text of
the textbook.
