They have taken (WildED's) carbon footprint test and committed to at least one more action to reduce their mark on the world. They have done an amazing job and have already been recognized by the Vancouver School Board for their amazing efforts.

Marathon 2012
Saahas collected over 1.6 tonnes of waste from the 10k Marathon this year by carefully planning waste collection points and using staff and volunteers to direct runners to dispose of waste properly. The majority of the waste collected was plastic bottles, carton boxes, and food waste. While litter was still observed, one volunteer noted an improvement in people using bins compared to previous years. However, some felt the large amount of single-use plastic bottles created waste that could be reduced by providing cups at water stations instead of bottles.
