Kumamoto City is located in Kumamoto prefecture with a population of over 657,000 people within an area of 267 square kilometers. Some of the top sights to see in Kumamoto include Kumamoto Castle, which is over 400 years old and famous for its cherry blossoms in early spring. Kamitori and Shimotori are the two main streets in Kumamoto known for shops, restaurants, and nightlife. Lake Ezu is a 50 hectare lake located in the center of the city that is popular for swimming and boating in the summer. Mt.
