St. Bathans was once a gold and coal mining town in New Zealand that is now a holiday spot known for its preserved historic buildings and Blue Lake. The author visited on a misty day where the clay cliffs and lake appeared muted in color. Sites photographed included the Main Street, Vulcan Hotel interior, Rowan Cottage, St. Bathans Hall, and remnants of the old school. Though fog was present during the visit, the author hopes to return when clear skies allow for better views of the area's scenic landscape.
