ZK MVVM, Spring & JPA On Two PaaS CloudsSimon Massey
1) The document discusses deploying a Java MVVM sample application called ZkToDo2 to two Platform as a Service (PaaS) clouds: Heroku and Openshift.
2) The application uses ZK, Spring, and JPA with a relational database and follows the MVVM pattern. Data bindings in ZK allow the view to be updated automatically based on changes to the view model.
3) Maven build profiles are used to swap Spring configurations to deploy the same codebase to different platforms like JBoss or clouds. The document demonstrates committing changes locally and deploying to both clouds with a single command.
Anypoint Data Gateway allows users to integrate data from legacy back-office systems like SAP, Oracle, and SQL into Salesforce using a simple visual interface. It supports connecting to various data sources instantly and eliminates the need for separate integration environments or extensive training. The Data Gateway is installed via the Salesforce AppExchange and provides a designer to create and publish gateways to external data sources and view existing source objects.
The document discusses building highly scalable Java applications on Windows Azure. It provides an overview of Windows Azure, including its compute and storage services. It then covers how to deploy and run Java applications on Azure, including using Tomcat, Jetty, GlassFish, and accessing SQL Azure and storage. With the release of the central flagship, SQL Server 2012, and the new and improved Cloud offering on Windows Azure, Microsoft managed to change the IT Landscape dramatically. During this talk we want to take you through all the SQL Server features in the Windows Azure Environment in either the full cloud spectrum or hybrid scenario’s. We’ll cover subjects like SQL Databases, IaaS, provisioning, integration, migration and touch some of the more computing topics in the Windows Azure when it comes to data. Going from the pure basics of all SQL related to the more advanced stuff you can do with this magnificent cloud platform.
10 Ways to Gaurantee Your Azure Project will FailMichael Collier
Most conference presentations will share “best practices”. That’s not this presentation. In this session we'll discuss what NOT to do. These surefire fail activities are inspired from real customer engagements (names changed to protect the innocent). Looking at the unsuccessful architecture and development patterns of others can help us not repeat the same mistakes in future cloud projects.

The Analytics team at Wikimedia has been busy exploring dashboarding and ways to display Wikipedia editor data. We found that while most people focus on visualization, data access and information architecture are just as important and separate problems.
In this talk we share our learnings from developing dashiki (https://github.com/wikimedia/analytics-dashiki), our new dashboard stack. We will talk about why we believe a server-less javascript app was the right architecture for the problem, how with about 900 lines of javascript we transform data into Vega grammar, and how knockout components helped us stay modular.
This document contains the resume of Venkata Vishnu Vardhan summarizing his work experience as a Java/J2EE developer. It details his extensive experience with technologies like Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, REST/SOAP web services, SQL, NoSQL databases, Agile methodologies and version control systems. It also lists projects he has worked on at various companies in roles like software developer, Java developer and senior Java developer.
WaveMaker is a RAD tool that allows developers to create rich web applications without complex coding. It provides an intuitive visual interface to build database-driven and SOA-enabled applications using open source technologies like Spring, Hibernate, and Dojo. WaveMaker applications can be deployed on Java servers or to cloud platforms with one-click deployment.
WaveMaker is a RAD tool that allows developers to create rich web applications using standard Java technologies like Spring, Hibernate, and Dojo without complex coding. JAX 2012: Moderne Architektur mit Spring und JavaScriptmartinlippert
Modern web applications are moving toward JavaScript-based rich clients running in browsers, with business logic and data accessed via RESTful APIs. This shifts rendering and logic from servers to clients. JavaScript frameworks help build complex client-side apps, while various languages can be used to create scalable cloud services. Challenges include achieving modularity in JavaScript, and building offline/cloud-ready services with versioned, documented APIs.
WaveMaker is a RAD tool that allows developers to create rich web applications using standard technologies like Spring, Dojo, Hibernate, and JAX-WS without complex coding, providing an intuitive visual interface for building database-driven and service-oriented applications. It generates pure Java web applications that can be deployed to various servers and cloud platforms. While suitable for rapid application development and frontend SOA projects, WaveMaker is less suitable for complex transactional systems or workflow applications that require traditional Java EE or BPM approaches.
CouchBase The Complete NoSql Solution for Big DataDebajani Mohanty
Couchbase is a complete NoSQL database solution for big data. It provides a distributed database that can scale horizontally. Couchbase uses a document-oriented data model and supports the CAP theorem. It sacrifices consistency to achieve high availability and partition tolerance. Couchbase is used by many large companies for applications that involve large, complex datasets with high user volumes and real-time requirements.
Gradle released versions 2.2 and 2.3 with several new features such as improved component selection rules, declaring module replacements, Sonar Runner plugin improvements, and compatibility with OpenShift. The ANTLR plugin was updated to support ANTLR versions 3.x and 4.x, and the ANTLR task now runs in a separate process. Gradle continues to improve build configuration, dependency management, and integration with tools like Ant and ANTLR.
The document discusses web application frameworks and provides examples using Apache Struts 2 and Spring frameworks. It defines a web application framework as software designed to support dynamic website and web application development. It then covers key aspects of the Struts 2 and Spring frameworks like the MVC architecture, configuration, tag libraries, and provides a Hello World example using Struts 2.
WaveMaker is a RAD tool that allows developers to easily create rich web applications without complex coding. It uses standard open source technologies like Spring, Dojo, Hibernate, and more. WaveMaker provides visual design tools and pre-built widgets to simplify development of database-driven and SOA-based applications. It is best for rapid prototyping but may not be suited for complex transactional or workflow-intensive systems.
This document discusses principles for building application front-ends in a service-oriented world. It proposes a Service-Oriented Front-End Architecture (SOFEA) style with the following key principles: 1) Decouple the processes of application download, presentation flow, and data interchange; 2) Presentation flow should be driven by client-side components and managed within the client; 3) Data interchange between tiers should follow common standards to avoid integrity issues and support rich data. Adhering to these principles can help integrate presentation tiers with increasingly service-oriented backends.

Using Windows Azure for Solving Identity Management Challenges (Visual Studio...Michael Collier
Identity management for cloud deployed applications can be a challenge. Often users will want to leverage an existing social network or corporate identity. Now we have to worry about dealing with multiple APIs, any updates to those APIs, or the addition of new identity providers. Windows Azure Access Control Services offers a better way! ACS allows for federated user authentication via popular social networks and Active Directory. In this session we’ll provide a crash course in claims as they relate to identity management. We’ll discuss why claims are important and how to add additional claims beyond what is provided by the identity providers. We'll also take a look at Windows Azure Active Directory and see how to manage corporate identities in the cloud.
