Kimbra was born in 1990 in New Zealand. She began writing songs at age 10 and competed in many music competitions in school. School, Kimbra then attended Hillcrest High. She competed in

Her Dad Ken Johnston, worked as head Doctor at the Waikato
University and her Mother Chris, was a Nurse. Kimbra has an
older Brother called Matthew. Kimbra's family say they are a
very close family and that she had a 'normal childhood'.

In year 8 Kimbra attended Berkly Middle School. She then went
to Hillcrest High. Her father says she did great in French and
Drama. Kimbra was about to enroll at Auckland University
however, a better offer came about.

occupations are singing and preforming on stage. Her genre in
singing is pop, soul, and jazz.

Australian work' and she won 'Best Pop Release'. She also
accomplished 'Best Female Artist'. Kimbra was nominated
'Highest Selling Single'. Kimbra is still achieving in her music
career.
