Kiara Griffin is a nursing major who will never settle for less. Her three favorite assignments were an emotions exercise with her female peers, a 32-day commitment challenge, and a scavenger hunt where she had to open up to new people. Her favorite journals provided lessons about prioritizing important tasks, creating a support network, and keeping difficult commitments. The best week was when she first started college and had to get to know her classmates despite being afraid without friends. In the future, she plans to become a photographer then find a partner and have a big family.

2. THREE FAVORITE
ASSIGNMENTS
o Understanding your emotions- was a really fun assignment I liked how Mrs. Cummings put us
in uncomfortable places and made us talk. It was very easy for my group because it was just
girls and girls really don’t get uncomfortable around each other. It was also nice to really just sit
and talk about your emotions and what makes you happy, sad.
o 32 Day Commitment- This assignment was interesting to me because I knew that I had to keep
a commitment and that it was going to be hard. It was very hard to keep that commitment
because my mind would wonder somewhere else and I would forget to do it . What it taught me
was that I needed to always keep my commitment.
o Scavenger Hunt- This assignment I loved because we had to go around college and talk to new
people that we never knew. To me it was a good experience because you had to open up.

3. THREE FAVORITE JOURNALS
o Chapter 4 Journal Entry 13- What I learned from this journal is that I realized that I make to
much time for things that can easily wait to happen after I take care of the real problem. What
keeps me from taking action is me not being confident in myself. telling myself that I can't do it
but I know I can. I plan to take charge in my career by doing what is important first like
handling my business then later having fun.
o Chapter 5 Journal Entry 17- This journal asked me what two choices could I create to make a
better support network and I said was to believe in myself and to and always ask for help.
o Chapter 7 Journal Entry 28- what I learned from this journal was about the time I had to keep a
commitment and it was hard. The time I kept a commitment to myself was when I had tore my
ACL and it was very hard for me to get around. I thought I was done for good. I had to miss the
first semester of college and that was very hard for me to take in because I was so ready to start
my life and move forward but I felt like God was trying to tell me something and that I just
need to wait. I was so hurt and confused on why God was doing this to me. So I made a
commitment to not give up that I was going to make it to college. It was a very difficult
commitment there where days I cried myself to sleep, but I made it college and I love it.

4. THE BEST WEEK EVER
o The best week that I had was when we first stared college and we had to get to know each
others names. It was very scary for me because I did not have any friends going to school with
me, so that meant I had to make new friends. It was very tough at first but then after I knew
everyone I was good to go. I will say that it has been a fun semester getting to know everyone
and the unique names .

o In my future I plane to be a photographer I thought it was nursing but the best thing about going
to college is that you don’t have to know what you want to but just have a plane.
o When I get done becoming a photographer I plane to get out there one day and find that special
someone. I also hope to have a big family because there is noting more like waking up to a
bunch of people that love you more than words can describe.
