packages. Kerala has become an excellent brand by itself in the health tourism sector either
because of its reputation in modern as well as traditional systems of treatment like Ayurveda,
yoga, meditation and homoeopathy or its cost effectiveness.
Kerala is popular amongst medical tourists for a number of reasons. Aside from providing high-

The demand for medical treatment and surgery in Kerala is increasing especially in the Gulf and
Europe. The NRIs who prefer treatment in their home country, are playing a significant role in
this regard. Several MNCs offer medical treatment options to employees and families at cost
effective rates. What with soaring health care costs and long waits for medical procedures in the
West, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find quality, affordable treatment there. India and
especially Kerala is emerging as a major medical tourism destination.
Indian doctors have established themselves as highly skilled and conscientious caregivers
worldwide.

RECOMMENDATIONS
• Travel Agencies must follow the proper itinerary of required Kerala trip as provided to
the clients.
• Every Kerala tourism products must be cleaner and greener so that eco-tourism can be
promoted.
• At the time of sightseeing all group members must be together and proper rules must be
followed so that all members maintain discipline.
• There should be a proper security system during trip so that nobody could indulge in any
kind of mischief.
• Proper medical facilities should be provided to clients in case of any injury or illness.
CONCLUSION
I am glad to get this opportunity to visit Kerala Trip, all the tour activities done was a great
learning experience and I am thankful to my entire department for giving me such an
opportunity. It was as much a learning trip as an enjoyable one. It’s good that such trips are a
part of course in Tourism & Hospitality Management Department, Jamia Millia Islamia that is
very useful for students; it gives a better insight into the practical aspect of the tourism industry.
The duration for such trips should be longer so that more activities can be included. Although
there were some drawbacks in the trip like the equipment used for conducting the activities
should have been of good quality and new also, Kerala Tourism must maintain a proper
discipline and should take care of the cleanliness and hygiene. Over all the trip was awesome; I
experienced the real Tour Management in these ten days. It taught me discipline, punctuality and
mad me more adaptive. Thank you, my friends who accompanied me, in this beautiful trip and
helped me bring out the best in me.
I have learned about real trip managements activities. The 10 days Kerala tour has given me life
lessons and also gave opportunity to explore some part of Kerala and connecting with local
culture.
The study tour is intended to make us familiar with various facts to the Kerala. Kerala is a land
of diversity and has different culture, style of living etc. A close look to the culture, tradition,
Page | 28
language and lifestyle of local inhabitants in various parts of the Kerala is beneficial for us. The
study visit benefited the participants to analyze and understand the multifaceted life and culture
of the people of the areas of Cochin, Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkedy & Kovalam. One can easily
see that every place is electrified with full voltage and connected with motorable roads. Public
facilities like fair price shops and post offices can be seen at remotest places to cater to the needs
of the locals as well as tourists. We met many people in different walks of life in the area.
We learnt a lot about the team spirit while interacting with each other, learnt about team
management and also learnt how to manage the tour crises and adapt to various odd situation.
Most of the input for preparation of this Report is from our personal experience and discussion
with locals, but some data is taken from the internet.
A state of Kerala “A narrow strip land” situated in the south western part of India. Arabian Sea
on its west and Western Ghats mountain range on its east blooms with natural beauty and crossed
by a number of water bodies (well- known as backwaters) has given beginning to internal water
boating systems, which also work as the main trade means in the state. Whole Kerala is a must-
visit place in India with a lot to see and do in a week. Whole Kerala is easily accessible by road,
sea and air, I opted for a road trip. The journey from Cochin to Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkedy,
Kovalam is an experience in itself that can’t be had in any other place. The journey was about
10 days long but the views on either side of the road were so mesmerizing with mountains and an
immense stretch of fields that I was completely captivated.
My hotel was in every tourist place which is accessible by the surface transportation that
connects it to the mainland. On every places of Kerala are the famous tourist attractions. As soon
as I saw Cochin Town in Kerala, it became one of my favorite cities in Kerala. It has a unique
blend of architecture, street art, and hawker food that I haven’t seen anywhere else in the region.
When we visit a new destination, we go out to see various attractions but Cochin feels like an
attraction in itself.
My stay in Kerala (includes Cochin, Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkedy & Kovalam) was for ten days
which included almost all the attractions in Kerala.

A state of Kerala “A narrow strip land” situated in the south western part of India. Arabian Sea on its west and Western Ghats mountain range on its east blooms with natural beauty and crossed by a number of water bodies (well- known as backwaters) has given beginning to internal water boating systems, which also work as the main trade means in the state. Whole Kerala is a must- visit place in India with a lot to see and do in a week. Whole Kerala is easily accessible by road, sea and air, I opted for a road trip. The journey from Cochin to Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkedy, Kovalam is an experience in itself that can’t be had in any other place. The journey was about 10 days long but the views on either side of the road were so mesmerizing with mountains and an immense stretch of fields that I was completely captivated. My hotel was in every tourist place which is accessible by the surface transportation that connects it to the mainland. On every places of Kerala are the famous tourist attractions. As soon as I saw Cochin Town in Kerala, it became one of my favorite cities in Kerala. It has a unique blend of architecture, street art, and hawker food that I haven’t seen anywhere else in the region. When we visit a new destination, we go out to see various attractions but Cochin feels like an attraction in itself. My stay in Kerala (includes Cochin, Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkedy & Kovalam) was for ten days which included almost all the attractions in Kerala.
