Kenyan marathon runner and politician Wesley Korir has called for criminalizing doping and taking heavy action against cheats to address Kenya's sporting crisis. Korir's own investigations revealed a drug cartel supplying East African runners. His announcement comes after Rita Jeptoo, Kenya's top female marathoner, tested positive for EPO. Korir said they need laws requiring athletes to name drug suppliers and face jail time in order to deter cheating and encourage cooperation in doping investigations.
