The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has implemented a stricter anti-doping policy effective from June 15, which includes punitive measures against countries whose athletes do not return medals from the 2008 and 2012 Olympics after doping violations. Additionally, a new reporting method for suspected cheating has been introduced, revealing that 49 weightlifters tested positive during re-evaluations of Olympic samples. During the lead-up to presidential elections, the IWF also announced a three-year broadcasting deal to enhance the coverage of future championships.
