This document provides information about several different types of libraries, including: - A community library in St. Louis Park that offers services like interlibrary loans and outreach programs. - An academic library at Minneapolis College that has circulating materials, electronic resources, and reference librarians. - A research library at the University of St. Thomas housing special collections and archives from the university's history. - An economics research library at the University of Minnesota containing economics books and working papers.

8. Facts about Hennepin County Library
 Hennepin County Library launched in 1922; its
headquarters are at Ridgedale Library in Minnetonka,
Minn.
 In 2008 the Hennepin County Library system merged
with the Minneapolis Library system, creating a premier
41-library system to serve both city and suburban
Hennepin County. Forty-one libraries. More than 5
million books, CDs and DVDs in 40 world languages.
Around 1,750 public computers. Eleven library board
members. One great system serving 1.1 million residents
of Hennepin County.

 Author Talk: N.M. Kelby
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m.
Nationally renowned author Kelby will read from her new novel,
"White Truffles in Winter." The novel imagines the world of the
remarkable French chef Auguste Escoffier (1846-1935) in the
twilight of his years. Books will be available for purchase and
signing.

 Socrates Café
Thursdays, Sept. 1–Nov. 17, 7 p.m.
Sit back and philosophize with your friends and neighbors. The
topic is decided by popular vote at the beginning of the meeting.
All welcomed; no experience necessary. The concept of Socrates
Café is based on the book of the same name by Christopher
Phillips.

15.  The Department of Special Collections at the
O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library houses the
University of St. Thomas Libraries' collection of
rare books and manuscripts as well as the
University Archives. Its collection of more
than 23,000 book volumes and 2400 cubic feet
of manuscripts and archival records includes
important collections of photographs, films,
architectural drawings and ephemera.

16.  The collections held by the the
University Archives document the
history of the University of St.
Thomas, the St. Paul Seminary,
Nazareth Hall Seminary, St. John
Vianney Seminary, St. Thomas
Military Academy (to 1965) and
the Catholic Digest (1939 - 2001).
 Among its holdings are the official
records of administrative offices,
academic departments & student
organizations, theses &
dissertations, the College
newspaper (The Aquin), the
College and Academy yearbooks
(Aquinas and The Kaydet), plus
selected professional papers and
publications of UST faculty and
administrators.

17.  Housed in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library,
the Media Resources Collection includes
streaming videos, DVDs, videocassettes, CD-
ROMs, and others. Its primary mission is to
support the University's curriculum and
instruction.

19.  Consists of economics and mathematics
books, economics journals, working papers,
and a few government publications.
 Can be used by anyone but only faculty and
graduate students from Department of
Economics can check items out.

20. History of Library
 The library began in 1967 with donated books and
journals from department professors, with many from
the collection of Jacob Schmookler. A fund was set up
for purchasing books and journal subscriptions, and
we still acquire books. Journals are now accessed
primarily through the University Library's electronic
collection, although we have the major economics
journals in paper from 2000-2008. There is a useful
like to our new book lists, economics journals and the
index EconLit on the website above.

21. Conclusion
 I enjoyed visiting all of these libraries but the one I
didn’t like was the library in St. Thomas because it was
huge and you could get confused in it very easily if it is
the first time you visit this library. the one I liked the
most was the one in Ridgedale because I am familiar
with it and know where all the books are located.
