Project Title: OPTIMAL CHARGING OF BATTERY USING SOLAR PV
IN STANDALONE DC SYSTEM

3. Description: In standalone dc system, dc-dc converter was used as interconnector in between
photo voltaic (PV) cell & battery, in order to utilize the fullest power in the pv cell Maximum
Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is incorporated in controller. In case, when the state of charge of
battery was high and system was partially loaded, excess power flows in to the battery, thereby
reducing the life of battery. By using the previous technique i.e., output (battery) voltage
controllers there was an instability in power to address these limitations, a charge controller was
introduced at the PV array for Optimizing the charge of the battery in this project.
