Jelgava State Gymnasium is a public school located in the center of Jelgava, Latvia that was founded in 1922. The school has been located in several buildings throughout its history, including being burned down during World War 2 when it was being used as a hospital. Currently there are 681 students aged 13-19 and 68 teachers at the school, which has been led by headmistress Ināra Daščinska since 1995.

3. History
• Jelgava State grammar school was founded in 1922.
• It has been located in several buildings.
• During the World War II there was a hospital there and
some yeare later the school was burnt down.
• 1971./1972. School had the highest number of
students - 1696. (7- 18 years old)
• Long time ago it was necesarily to wear school
uniforms.
• Teachers lived in hostels next to the school.
• It has been the state gymnasium since 2003.

finishes at 3 or 4 o’clock.

12. Lunch- break is 30 min long

13. One lesson is 40 min long
