2. Significance
Juvenile delinquency is now arise as a biggest problem in our society. We must think
about preventing these crimes and try to grow an educated and understanding
generation. If we can sort out the causes & consequences of this social problem then
hopefully someday, we will see a new world where the innocence has been
restored.So I took this topic as my seminar project work.
3. What Is Juvenile Delinquency
Delinquency is not clearly defined because some laws are vague or loosely worded. Crime
committed by children & adolescents under statutory age is called juvenile delinquency. The
children act 1960 defines delinquent as “A child who has committed an offence”

criminals destroy houses, shops, office etc.

things by force, take away money from business men &
they do not hesitate to do murder also.
Unsafe women’s life due to the violence of these
criminals.
Poor condition of the future countries.

revenge for rejection in love matter.

12. STATE WISE STATISTICS
The delinquency rate is higher
among the boys than the girls.
The age group that produces the
most juvenile delinquents is
between12-16 years.
Low educational background is
one of the main reasons for
juvenile delinquency.
Juvenile delinquents are found
more in urban areas.
Poor economic background is also
another important cause for
youth offense in India.
13. Conflict With Laws
A child below 7 years of age cannot be prosecuted and will not have to enter the juvenile justice system as a
juvenile in conflict with law but can fall within the definition of child in need of care and protection, under
juvenile justice system
In present law’s till 18 years age is considered as juvenile criminal. In this issue 6th August,2014 Juvenile
Justice Act(JJA) 2000 took some reformation acts.

Avoiding criminalizing and
penalizing a child for simple reasons.
Solutions are meant to rehabilitate the children who have committed crime and/or found guilty to provide them with the
facilities required to be a good citizen.

Delinquency may never be
censored, however it is a societal
consensus that it is curbed.
“No one is born as a criminal, but are
made criminals”
