Ryota Matsumoto is an artist who works in both architecture and art. He spent much of his childhood living abroad in Hong Kong, the US, and Britain, which fostered his creativity. He took up architecture but always painted in his spare time, finding the two fields complementary. His creative style uses digital and mixed media techniques to question representations of space. He is inspired by urban environments and the paradoxes within cities. It can take him a week or two to complete a piece, but some projects cycle through over months. He hopes to bridge architecture and art through his work.
