Dear Member,
Overleaf you will find our July 2012 schedule for Gateway.

Wellbeing Open Day: We are holding an open day for the wellbeing course on Monday the 9 of July from 2pm- 4pm in
th
Mount Drummond, Harold’s Cross. The course will run from the 12 of July for 16 weeks from 1pm – 6pm on Mondays and
th
Thursdays. Come along to the open day on the 9 of July for more information and a few healthy snacks.

Mount Drummond Party: There will be a garden party in Mount Drummond on the 24 of July from 2pm – 4pm. Come
along and enjoy the music, food and fun. The residents would love to see Gateway members.

Gateway Outing: There is a Gateway trip to Sandymount on the 27 of July, more information is in Drop in.

Minister’s Visit: Kathleen Lynch will be visiting Gateway drop next Thursday the 5 of July at 3pm. Come along and have
a tea/coffee and a chat with the minister.
C.E. Position: There is a vacancy for a project worker in Gateway, job description and application forms are in drop in. All
members are invited and encouraged to apply; there is more information in drop in.

Agenda for Members Meeting: Our members meeting on the 9 of July at 1.30pm will have the following agenda,
Minutes from June meeting, speaker for August, Gateway trip in August, Gateway a member led project our rights and
responsibilities and A.O.B. Come along and get your voice heard.

Minutes of the Members Meeting of the Gateway Project on the 11 of June 2012
1 Welcome: Mary Q chaired the meeting and welcomed all members.

2 Minutes: The minutes of the members meeting from 14 of May were read by Chris A. There were no matters
arising.
3 Members Decision: A discussion took place about the Minister Kathleen Lynch visiting Gateway drop in. It was

agreed that the Minister could come on the 5 of July to Gateway drop in and speak to members.
4 Youth/Gateway: The meeting with the youth and Gateway members to discuss the new premises has been
postponed. The youth are not ready to meet presently and Martha G will keep us updated on this matter.
5 Privacy: A discussion took place about creating privacy with the front windows. It was decided at present that
members were comfortable with the windows as they are now.
6 July Speaker: There were three speakers suggested for July. A speaker from Suicide or Survive, Threshold or
See Change will be speaking in July depending on availability. It will be in the July schedule.
7 Gateway Trip: A discussion took place about a day trip in July. It was decided that a day will be organised to go
to either Brittas Bay or Sandymount. Laura B and Sinead K will be organising this.

8 Pool Outing: Chris A suggested a pool outing on the 21 of June to Goodfellas or Ken Doherty’s place. Chris is
going to create a poster for drop in.
9 Rights and Responsibilities: Martha G had a discussion with members about rights and responsibilities.
People gave definitions and examples of human rights. This was followed by a discussion about the rights and
responsibilities of Gateway Members. Flipcharts have been left in drop in so people can see the discussion.
There is also a space were members can write down what they believe is their rights in Gateway and also what
they believe is their responsibilities.
10 Research Advance Directives: Fionn F will speak to members on this at the next meeting
11 A.O.B:
It was suggested that we could make some signs in Art for the ladies and Gents toilets in Irish. Then we
would have both Irish and English signs.

The C.E. position for a project worker deadline is the 13 of July. If any member is interested in applying
you can get information in drop in. Applicants must also be Garda vetted and this is a long process so if
you are interested, it would be a good idea to start that process now. You can ask in drop in for more
information.
There are places available on the Gateway Advisory Committee so if people are interested you put your
name forward
