Dear Member,
Overleaf you will find our April 2012 schedule for Gateway.
Moving Day: Gateway drop in is moving from Mount Drummond to our new premises in Unit
1, 2-3 Parker Hill, Rathmines, Dublin 6 on Monday 16th of April 2012. There is a map of the
new premises included with this letter.
Research: 5 Gateway members recently conducted research in Gateway and on the telephone
with former members. The results of the research can be found on
www.projectgateway.blogspot.com.
Mount Drummond Farewell: We are having a celebration in Mount Drummond to say farewell
and thank you to the residents of Mount Drummond on the 12th of April at 2.00pm- 5.00. If any
members would like to contribute any ideas or talents, please contact the partnership on 01-
4965558.
Gateway Sub Committee: Gateway is becoming an independent company and the Advisory
Committee has formed a smaller group to help Gateway become more independent. If any
member would like to become part of the group please contact Martha on 01-4965558.
Act the Maggot: Gateway have been offered a free acting workshop from Act the Maggot. This
will be held in May. If anyone is interested you can leave your name in drop in or call Martha on
01-4965558.
Minutes of the Members Meeting of the Gateway Project on the 12th of March 2012
1 Welcome: Nessa J chaired the meeting and welcomed all the members.
2 Minutes: The Minutes of the members meeting for the 13th February 2012 were read by
Nessa J. A discussion started about what can be done to show respect when guest
speakers are in Gateway. This will be discussed at another meeting. It was also discussed
that a proposal should be done to scrap the meet ups in Copan as members are not
attending.
3 Members Decision: It was decided that film night was a good idea and should be
discussed further when we move premises.
4 Mental Health Act: A technique called democracy was used to decide on a speaker for
the Mental Health Act. Members decided to get a visiting foreign registrar doctor to a
Psychiatrist in a Psychiatric Hospital. Members felt that democracy was a good tool.
5 Members Decision: Members decided to continue on with relaxation and meditation on
a Monday afternoon up until June.
6 Leaving Party: It was decided that we should have a party and bring residents before
leaving Mount Drummond. Deirdre H and Lorraine are going to organise this with the
help of project workers.
7 A.O.B. There was no other business to be discussed.
