Up to €67.4 million is foreseen from the 2020 CEF Telecom Work Programme for grants managed by INEA in the area of Generic Services. The grants under CEF Telecom helped European public administrations and businesses to hook up to the core platforms of the digital services that are the object of the calls.
In particular, €5 million was made available in 2019 and €3 million in 2020 for projects oriented towards 'Open Data' management.

The objective of this session is to get acquainted with the current innovation ecosystems promoted by the Digital Europe Programme such as (E)DIHs, and learn how those actors can collaborate among each other.
Digital Innovation Hubs and EDIHs acting as a one-stop-shop, are in a privileged position to understand the technology solutions developed by different projects, and to offer these solutions as part of their services for test-before-invest to their SMEs.
During the roundtable experts will share lessons learned, tools and methodologies for DIHs to collaborate among each other and facilitate SMEs the access to cross-border technological and business services developed in the framework of different European projects.
The session will facilitate the knowledge exchange on the different roles DIHs can play to ensure the digital transformation of all businesses and the collaboration models developed between DIHs and SMEs.

Join and fire walk with us to unravel the secrets of how a world made of Digital Twins living in the cloud-to-edge continuum can be implemented with FIWARE components, relying on the NGSI-LD standard, and get insight into real Digital Twin use cases.
Digital Twins enable system integration at multiple levels and are a core FIWARE concept. Participants will be able to see how an NGSI-LD based Digital Twin system can get its capabilities incrementally increased. The status and the roadmap of NGSI-LD in ETSI ISG CIM will be presented, including work on recent additions for operations in distributed deployments, how Asset Administration Shell (AAS) concepts from Industry 4.0 or Linked Data Event Stream functions can be supported.
Participants will discover also how to connect Digital Twins using Linked Open Data compliant with the FIWARE Smart Data Models. It includes a scenario for harvesting data from external sources, making them FIWARE compatible, and publishing them as LOD in Open Data Portals.
With Digital Twins, system integration becomes a breeze, and in this session, you will also learn how different frameworks bring an overlay on top of an NGSI-LD based environment to empower non-IT specialists. Also how recipes for easy deployment and operation of FIWARE systems managing digital twin data end to end can help creation of solutions based on this paradigm.

This session will bring you the opportunity to discover how FIWARE will make Data Spaces happen! Contents will give all the details and insights around the path taken in this strategic area. An introduction will provide the overall vision on Data Spaces, the status of the Data Spaces Business Alliance (DSBA) Technical Convergence activities, and initial considerations around the concept of FIWARE Data Space Connector, the first dataspace connector that will comply with the Data Space Business Alliance recommendations.
Different coordination and support actions of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) in the Data Spaces domain will also be presented, as well as initial outputs from these projects. It will provide insights about the opportunities to influence and drive decisions within this important program of the European Union.
A series of presentations will deep dive into technical details about the minimum viable framework recommended in DSBA: the standards proposed and how they integrate together. Concretely, presentations will focus on the pillars linked to decentralized Trust, Identity & Access Management and the pillar for Data Value creation covering aspects for Monetization and Marketplace services.
Several presentations will tackle elements that open the discussion around the evolution of Data Spaces, as well as components expected to be integrated in the concept of Data Space Connector. They will be followed by use cases that provide insight on what is being developed and testimonies on how technologies based on Data Spaces concepts previously displayed are being used in real life scenarios.

The overall food system nearly reached the next strategic inflection point. IoT technology, data sharing and consumers’ demand for sustainable production methods are pushing limits. More than ever, agricultural production needs to deploy knowledge intensive farming practices and increase data sharing. Existing data exchange platforms need to become open data exchange ecosystems managing data owners’ consent and facilitate dynamic collaboration of stakeholders. This shall increase productivity and reduce food loss and waste of the circular food system from Farm2Fork.
FIWARE open-source software and agri-food data models are a cornerstone to facilitate this development. New sources of data can be made accessible, while decreasing effort for aggregating, processing, providing, and accessing data. This session is presenting different practical examples for data usage at the farm site and of partners collaborating along the food supply chain towards consumers helping them to learn about their choices.
The session will also summarise challenges and opportunities of the future of connected agriculture. This is specifically considering a technological perspective. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to meet colleagues from different sectors and business domains, aiming at building the foundation of the future data economy for food systems. This will offer the opportunity to learn about synergies considering the close integration of agriculture in smart villages as well as advanced food production and delivery systems that are at the heart of smart cities.

This session will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about concrete challenges, technology trends and concrete application scenarios which are driving the FIWARE technical roadmap on robotics and automation technologies.
The session will commence with an overview of the FIWARE approach to create and exploit synergies between Digital Twins and AI-driven robotics automation in the context of smart industry solutions for manufacturing, intralogistics, and agriculture sectors.
Following that, the presentations will delve into real-world examples, emphasizing the potential benefits and limitations of Digital Twin approaches to smart solution development in concrete robotics contexts. Special emphasis will be put on showing how FIWARE based digital twins and robotics bring value into disruptive solutions for manufacturing execution and operations management, material flow automation, and efficient monitoring and supervision of smart agriculture environments such as green houses and insect farms. The interoperability between FIWARE-based digital twins and OPC UA robots is also a major topic in this session.
To conclude, a wrap up presentation will summarize the take away messages, provide some insights into the future direction of this exciting technology, and discuss some relevant opportunities for establishing collaboration projects.
Attendees will leave the session with a greater understanding of FIWARE-based Digital Twins in smart industry solutions, how they can be used to improve the performance and efficiency of robotic systems, and some of the most relevant initiatives of the FIWARE community in this domain.

The FIWARE solutions, the NGSI-LD specification and related Digital twin approach for decision support have been identified as key prospects to answer these challenges.
