Michael Jordan was born in 1963 in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina. He showed talent in basketball from a young age and received a scholarship to the University of North Carolina. Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1984 and led them to six NBA championships before retiring in 1993. He came out of retirement in 1995 to rejoin the Bulls and win three more titles before retiring for a second time in 1999. Regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Jordan continues to earn millions each year from endorsements and owns the Charlotte Bobcats NBA team.
