Youngblood, I hate to weigh in like this, but you didn't explain
the setup. Allow me...
Now, if you see a bubble with these characters at the very
top, that is hiragana you're looking at. This is the most basic
alphabet of the Japanese language.
Now the second line is how the Japanese characters sound
using English letters. Sound out these letters as best as you
can to produce the Japanese words.
The third line is the closest possible English translation.
Nimbus M.D.
5. Playing... it's what Jiro Nimbus does best.
Today, he's playing Super Sailor Samurai,
but when he heard a loud grumble, all
playing stopped.
6. Jiro gives his piggy a good shake.
Money falls from his tummy and
Jiro puts the coins in his pocket for
safe keeping.
Mom, you sound
lame. When the rain
calls, I must go!
7. How you
hanging?
It was going to rain and Jiro loved how the droplets
tickled his cheek. But before he would ever step foot
outside, he needed to dress the part.
I found
you! eep!
Or was it just
your belly?
No clouds in the sky,
Jiro. Are you sure you
heard thunder?
Putting on a raincoat was
no problem for Jiro, not a
problem at all. Those pesky
galoshes however... they
always gave him the boot!
Jiro never played alone. He
always had Sib by his side.
Jiro and Sib are best friends
forever. They do everything
together and are rarely seen
apart.
Both.
8. My arm
is numb.
Jiro waves goodbye for so long that he thought his arm
just might fall off. When he finally left his front door, the
sky was already cloudy and the air was very bitter.
9. A walk through the lonely forest is always better with a friend. This
forest was given its name after people reported seeing spirits walking
through treetops. They say these spirits get very lonely sometimes.
To keep them company, people come from all over the world to visit.
They even bring gifts for good fortune.
This place is
creepy.
10. The song of the forest guides Jiro along.
They’re
really
quiet
today.
😢
GOOD! 🌝
That's a
little harsh.
I happen
to like
how they
sound.
Leaping like a frog, Jiro lands in front of
an old building. He's the only one who can
squeeze through the entrance and so he
does just that.
Jump!
Oh Jiro, you
crybaby...
These birds
are terrible
singers.
11. There's a secret garden on the other side. It's very
beautiful for a unkempt garden, but this is hardly what
Jiro came to see.
The air stinks
and I love it!
12. At the edge of the garden, Jiro places Sib in lily pad pond. A
gentle breeze carries them to open waters.
I can feel the
rain! Do you
feel it too, Jiro? 😓
🌚
13. Watch that
breath around
me!
Then stay
out of my
way small
fries!
In these waters, the waves quickly become impossible. Before
the two were swept over the edge of a waterfall, Sib used
magic gust.
Sorry,
pal.
Sib's magic breath lifted the two out of the water. They took
off into the sky like a rather odd looking bird.
😡
14. It's raining!
Do you want a cookie or
something?
😍
The rain was falling hard when Jiro arrived into Tokyo city.
Tokyo has many buildings and several of them have colorful
signs all over them.
15. Jiro and Sib carefully float down to the city below. Everyone
is so busy that no one even notices them.
16. Jiro walks down a narrow street. He stops in
front of a brown machine that sits next to a
ramen shop. Ramen is a very special noodle.
It can be served either cold or hot! There are
many types of ramen in Japan and Jiro loves
them all.
The machine has several
pictures of ramen to
choose from. Jiro picks
the ramen he likes best
then presses the button.
After Jiro pays, the machine spits out a ticket. Jiro
walks into the ramen shop after saying goodbye
to the kind machine. This shop is named The
Sakura, much like the blooming blossoms on a
cherry tree.
17. The Sakura is Jiro's number one ramen shop in Tokyo. As soon as he
walks through the door, Jiro is met with a surprise. His classmate Toji
is just behind the counter. Toji is also Jiro's secret classroom crush.
Thanks for the
ticket, Jiro! I bet
you're shocked
to see me
here...? This is
my uncle's shop
and I just started
working here.
You are
very
sloppy. Ha... You're right! I
am shocked.
💓
Is that your
crush, beautiful
Toji? He is quite
tall for 13.
😅
18. I want to take a
vacation that has
clear water, sandy
beaches, and sun. Tons
of Sun!
It would be so
much sun that I
probably wouldn’t
need you.
It figures.
You probably
want to take
Toji instead.
Waiting could be boring if you didn't know the
many ways to pass time.

21. We are
being
followed.
When Jiro steps outside, the sun is shinning and the
streets are sparkling. It's a picture perfect sight, but Jiro
can't stick around for too long. Sib and Jiro race around
the corner and quickly disappear into the crowd.
Well we better
get you back
before the rest
of them show
up.
22. Can it follow
us up stairs?
Yes!
Yes it
can!
Hurry
Jiro!
I’m getting tired
from all this
running. Are you
up charged yet? I don’t
know.
Jiro wants to stay in Tokyo longer, but he really
must go right now!
24. Sib uses magic gust once again. The magical wind
carries them home safely. Along the way, several
birds stop to speak with Jiro and rest their wings.
Can we speed this up?
I want to make it back
before dinner.
😋
