Lorelei Jiang worked as a Learning Space Steward for UBC IT Audio Visual Services from September 2014 to January 2015. I highly recommend Lorelei Jiang as a candidate for employment. She was employed as a Learning Space
Steward (LSS) with UBC IT Audio Visual Services from September 2014 to January 2015.
In her role as LSS, Lorelei was responsible for regularly testing the audio visual equipment in UBC’s
lecture theatres and classrooms, changing microphone batteries, and reporting any problems she found
to our full-time technicians. She also made sure that the rooms she checked were well-maintained, tidy,
and meeting their required seating capacities. She worked independently and used critical thinking skills
to do preliminary troubleshooting for a variety of common technical issues such as damaged cables and
dim projector lamps.
As Lorelei’s direct supervisor during her time with Audio Visual Services, I can confidently endorse
Lorelei. It has been a pleasure to work with her. She demonstrated a very positive attitude, dedication to
her work, and a keen interest in learning new skills. She is both enthusiastic and adaptable, and will be a
