The document summarizes the results of a music survey. It includes:
- Pie charts and bar charts were used to clearly display results for questions about listening to music, favorite genres, and influential years for music.
- Open-ended questions asked about favorite artists/bands and what attracts people to certain music. Responses showed a variety of opinions.
- Questions about idolizing artists and being a fan due to looks showed that most respondents do not idolize artists or are fans due only to looks.
- Responses were mixed on preferring British artists, but comments provided insight into considerations like enjoying any good music regardless of origin.
Douglas Hyde's legacy is re-examined in a new book launched in Portahard, where Hyde was inspired by local stories and folklore as a young man. The book, written by a leading scholar on the Irish presidency, covers Hyde's time as President from 1938 to 1945, depicting his role as "upholding democracy" during a fragile time for European democracies after World War 1. While one controversial aspect was his removal as GAA patron after attending a soccer game, Hyde ensured his successor was invited to all GAA events, and later the Roscommon GAA headquarters was named in his honor.

This document summarizes research on instrumenting crowdsourced work to better understand workers and their performance. Key findings include:
- Logs of worker behavior like mouse movements, clicks, and typing can provide insights but have limitations from imperfect logging and information overload.
- Models using features from logs can predict cheating, quality, and performance on similar tasks with moderate accuracy.
- Clustering workers by behavioral patterns and potentially de-anonymizing submissions are also discussed.
- Open questions remain around modeling more complex creative work, ensuring models are interpretable, and how to best organize cognitive models of crowds.

The document discusses using external threat intelligence to monitor brands and supply chains. It recommends inventorying important external assets and integrating threat intelligence data sources. Specific sources discussed include suspicious domain registrations, network cleanliness data, social media/dark web monitoring, credential exposures, and phishing campaigns. Case studies show how these sources uncovered fraudulent procurement attempts, risky vendors, leaked credentials, and brand-targeting attacks. The document emphasizes that organizations must monitor beyond their own networks to identify supply chain threats.

At the time of the survey, the CCM candidate Magufuli led his main opponent Lowassa 62% to 31%, but many respondents were undecided or unwilling to state their choice. While Magufuli led across demographics, he had a stronger appeal among women, rural dwellers, and older people compared to men, urbanites, and younger Tanzanians.

Roy faces the difficult tasks of solving Timmy's murder before the town erupts in violence, while also dealing with his own feelings of failure to protect the boy.

1. Walking Dead Project: Episode: Fight
First Draft - Date: 08/29/15
Background/Summary:
Hello all,
This is a set of notes to help put the reader in the right frame of mind. This is an episode/script
that I have created to include into my game design portfolio. All of the characters and backgrounds are
based off of the last half of Season 5 of The Walking Dead TV series. It is to be transferred into a Game
Design Document after completion.
I chose the TV series generally because it's quicker and simpler to access. The episode is
continued on from where Rick, Carl and the group begin living in the town of Alexandria. They struggle
with building trust with the residents and their lack of awareness of how dangerous the world is. On top
of that, there is a looming issue of The Wolves, a small group of outcast that are hunting residents of the
town. Both old and new. The story picks up at the same moment the residents of Alexandria have their
town meeting and Pete is executed after accidentally killing Reg Monroe
The purpose of this episode is to create a unique branch of work that can quickly show my story
telling and game design capabilities. Throughout the episode, there are sections that cut in and out of
scene descriptions and actual dialogue. Some scenes have not been fully fleshed out while others are
expanded upon. Each new scene or transition is underlined throughout the episode. You will find lines
that are labeled "Game Action", where the episode can be translated into actual game objectives for the
player to perform in a video game; The main purpose of starting this project.
Please keep in mind, this is the first draft of this project, so many of the ideas and story
elements are still being formulated and cleaned up.
Guide:
- Dialogue:
o Names will be abbreviated to the first one or two letters of the name and followed by a
colon
o Carol --> Ca:
- Actions:
o Most actions will be prefixed with a "
- Scenes/ scene changes:
o New scenes and transitions will be underlined.
Let me know what you think.
Jacques E. Garcon
2. Intro:
1. Sam meets up with an old friend of his; It is assumed to be a Wolves member:
The scene opens up with a hand, holding a picture of Rick and Carl; the new residents of Alexandria; Sam
can be overheard speaking:
Sam: She's made me cookies before, but she said she wouldn't anymore.
S: She did show me how to make them.
Wolf1: That's nice
W1: Really nice
W1: Were they good?
S: Yeah, they were
- After a short pause
W1: Do you like them? The new people
S: Yeah, I think so. Rick made my dad go away. They got into a fight and now he lives in another house.
W1: That's good, I'm happy he's finally gone...
S: Yeah
- A short pause
S: We all miss you, we wish you were back
Wolf1: I miss you too
- W1 speaks while looking at the rest of the pics
W1: Jessie... Aaron...
W1: Deanna...
W1: Who's these two in the picture?
S: Oh! That's Rick right there... My mom said he's our constable. Sort of like an officer for our town.
That's his son Carl
Roll Intro:
2. Rick has a talk with Carl, following the execution of Pete. Rick speaks to Carl about his duty to protect
Judith, no matter what. It is assumed it is the same night, Rick has executed Pete at the meeting. (Pete is
Sam's abusive father, executed by Rick)
Rick voice cuts in speaking to someone, but we can't see him nor the person he is speaking with
R: Now, you know what it's like out there, and you know we do not deal with people that mean to do us
harm...
- Rick takes a brief pause
R: These are evil, vicious people and we've seen it firsthand. Do you remember what they did to Bob.
R: Don't think they will not do the same to you or even worse, Judith
I know you want this to be different, but we cannot let anyone or anything get in the way of Judith's and
the groups survival
Rick: Do you understand?
Carl: Yes
- It is revealed that it is Carl he is speaking to
R: Your mother fought for you and her to live, and you must fight for her.
R: I might, forget it, I won't last in this world forever, but you...
3. R: You and Judith are what makes this all worth it
R: Do you hear me?
- Carl, looking dead set at his father and nods
C: Yes
Rick continues
R: If at any point, we are in a situation where it is you or me... I need you to leave me be and get Judith
and yourself as far away as possible.
R: Don't think twice
- Carl looks intensely into his father's eyes and nods as he responds.
- Rick returns an encouraging nod
C: Yes (a bit choked up)
- Carl repeats much clearer and stronger
C: Yes.
3. Some Alexandria residents are murdered in their sleep and found the next morning
It is early morning and we find Daryl heading over to Aaron's house to pick him up for what we assume
to be another scouting trip.
We see Aaron stepping out of his door
Daryl: You ready?
Aaron: Yes sir
Aaron is organizing his pack
Aaron: It's weird, Eric, usually wakes up way before I do, but he decided to sleep in
Daryl: henh... (tone as if to signify is that so?)
- Daryl does not look too interested
A shriek is heard from the down the street.
Mrs. Neudermyer is seen pushing out of her front door. We see Tobin bursting out of the same door. He
appears to be a walker and is heading in the direction that Mrs. Neudermyer is running, towards Daryl
and Aaron. Others such as Rick and Michonne as well as Glenn, Maggie come out as they hear the
commotion. A crowd gathers. (Mrs. Neudermyer and Tobin are previous residents of Alexandria)
Daryl heads towards walker Tobin about to take him out, when Mrs. Neudermyer yells out
Neu: NO!!
- Daryl halts and instead just shoves it.
Rick: "We have to do this!" towards Mrs. Neudermyer
- Mrs. Neudermyer is in a silent sob, before nodding in agreement.
- Daryl continues to hold the walker at bay.
She continues to sob and turns into Carol's waiting shoulder and arm
Rick gives the nod to Daryl, and he strikes the walkers head with a machete. It partially slices into the
skull and walker Tobin falls to the ground.
Daryl begins to inspect it
- Rick begins to ask questions to the gathered crowd
4. R: Has anyone seen Tobin step out lately?
R: Anyone know how he might have become a-
Daryl: Rick... look...
- A "W" is etched into the walker Tobin's forehead
- Rick looks perplexed
- Daryl continues to inspect the body
D: I don't see any bites or wounds on him
D: Sick maybe?
- Mrs. Neudermyer coming out of her sob and shoulder
Mrs. Neudermyer: He was fine last night, he wasn't sick (through her crying)
Another shriek occurs from another part of the neighborhood, alerting the group of another situation.
The scene cuts to a row of dead walker/previous residents. All with W's etched into their foreheads.
Glenn looks over their bodies and notices a bruise on the neck's of one of the bodies.
Glenn: I've got a syringe mark here
- Carol inspects a body near her
Carol: I've got one here too
- They move down the line, checking and finding other marks
G: These people were poisoned, Rick
Murmuring and panic begins to spread amongst the crowd
- Game Action: Carl goes around the town and performs a sweep of his section. Killing any
walkers that are around; slow, careful action
Aaron's face suddenly has an alert look. He runs back into his house
We see Aaron standing at the doorway with the point of view from Eric's bedside. Eric's eyes are wide
open and a bloody "W" is etched into his forehead. Eric has also been murdered.
Aaron calls out for Eric from the doorway, with no response
A: Eric? (with a soft but somber tone)
Aaron walks over slowly to Eric's bedside and sees the "W" on his forehead.
He stumbles backwards and falls into a corner, completely horrified and starting to cry
5. 4. Rick surrounded by the group and the rest of the Alexandria residents
Rick stands before the Alexandria residents and is hit with a barrage of questions
Olivia: How were they able to get in so easily?
Mrs. Neudermyer: What if they come back?
- More and more questions come, but they are indecipherable all at once
Rick opens in a slow and heavy tone:
R: I am sorry for those that have lost their loved ones...
R: And the fear that they have put on us
R: We will not allow this to happen again
R: We will track them down
R: And we will kill whoever has done this
Enid is seen not looking at anyone or anything in particular; she does not look concerned or bothered.
- Rick continues on as he looks everyone directly in their eyes...
R: We will start training and setting up nightly patrols to keep watch
R: This is what I was talking about earlier
R: We have to move fast
- Game Action: Carl takes note of the room and in particular sees how Enid is behaving. She looks
more so annoyed (Carl starts his own mental investigation)
- Rick ends with
R: This is what we have been saying and talking about all along, we have to get ready
R: I need everyone to go back to your homes and lock everything down
R: Windows, doors, garages.... anyway, someone can get in
5. The people start to return to their homes
Carl breaks his focus on Enid and sets out to talk to Rick. Rick is simultaneously approached by Daryl,
Glenn, Maggie, and Michonne
Rick: Do we know how they got in?? [In a whispered, but serious tone directed at the group]
R: How did they get past the watchtower?
Maggie: Sasha was not keeping watch last night. She actually slept for the first time in weeks last night;
following the prayer session with Father Gabriel
M: She hasn't slept a wink in weeks, we can't put that on her
- Rick resigns that approach and starts to command
Daryl: I don't know if this matters much
D: But Aaron and I found a note in the car we were trapped in at Del Arno (Food Center).
D: He hands over the note to Rick. He reads it, "Trap Bad People Coming DONT STAY (In blood)
D: They're good too, rigged trip wires set up to the semi doors.
D: If it weren't for Morgan, we wouldn't have made it out
6. R: Daryl, you and Aaron take Glenn and start scouting the perimeter and see where and how they might
have gotten in
R: If you have to, start tracking and see where it leads
Daryl: You got it
R: Carl, I need you to go back home and keep watch over Judith, Start locking everything down. If they
were able to get in, they may try it again. I want you and-
- Carl begins to interject
C: Bu..
Rick cuts him off
R: Carl, remember what I said earlier.
- Carl Immediately stops talking and nods in confirmation looking down
R: Carol, Abraham, Tara... I need you all to start showing these folks on basic firearms and fighting skills
R: Carol, I need for you to start getting our strongest people ined and ready to fight. We don't know how
many of them there are.
R: Start showing them how to shoot but take it slow
R: We want to conserve our ammo for the real thing
R: Where is Deanna?
Maggie: Deanna is still at home all messed up. Spencer is with her
R: Michonne, come with me
Before Rick returns to the woods, Morgan tries to talk with Rick after his quick meeting about what he
witnessed last night
- How does he feel about the murders; How does it affect his "All Life is Precious" credo.
- Morgan doesn't think they're that skilled at combat, it should be easy to take them down, but
that was just two of them. He's not sure how many more of them there may be.
Morgan: Rick...
Morgan: May I have a word with you?
Rick: Sure
Morgan: I know what you did... (witnessed Rick execute Pete at end of Season 5)...
Morgan: You had to do
Rick nods in agreement
Rick: I'm sorry you had to see that
Morgan nods in confirmation
Morgan: And this thing you're about to get into... You're left with very little choices
Rick is quiet but looking on with a stern face (Rick does that look away and look back at you thing)
Morgan: It took me a long time to get over everything I've lost
Rick: It's ok (Rick does the customary head nod)
R: This is not on you
M: What I can tell you
M: Is that these people. They're not fighters. Not even close.
7. There's a short pause.
M: But they are dangerous and vicious
M: And Rick...
M: Thank you for what you did back there
M: For not giving me what I wanted (Morgan begged for Rick to kill him in Season 3)
M: Be safe
Rick nods and turns as he heads back to finish his plans
7. The group rallies back, Daryl delivers news that the attackers might still be close by. Daryl is on the
trail of The Wolves and has brought a few of the more capable Alexandria residents with them.
Nicholas, Mikey (Nicholas' son), Ron (Jessie's son), Aaron, and Francine join the group along with Rosita,
Abraham, Glenn, and Father Gabriel
- Daryl notices some weird patterns while tracking on the path.
Daryl: Somethin's off
Rick: How so?
D: For the past couple of miles there's only been tracks for a few of em'
D: The past 20 yards there seems to be more and more, but it's all scattered...
Abraham: Maybe a herd came through?
D: Maybe, but they carry on forward all of a sudden, as if they stopped and picked up again, all moving
forward;
- Daryl is on one knee investigating the weird patterns
R: Can we still track it along
D: Yeah
R: We'll keep an eye out and make sure we don't get over run
- Rick says to the group in a low voice
R: Like we worked out before, the new people stay in the middle, and we'll stay on the outside to
protect
Along the way, Michonne gets her leg caught in a mini bear trap. She hollers and screams in agonizing
pain.
- Slowly trekking along the tracks, we hear a mechanical snap and we see Michonne suddenly go
down
Michonne: Fuck! (Basic cable)
- Michonne is seen grabbing for her leg as she breathes in and our deeply, grimacing at the pain
- We see a small bear trap around her lower leg and foot
Abraham and Glenn rush to her and pry a trap open and Rosita quickly applies pressure to her ankle and
foot.
Rosita: We have to wrap it up tight or else it'll start to swell
- Francine offers a scarf that she had
Daryl: Looks like it didn't get bone, but it bit on pretty good
- Rosita begins to wrap Michonne's leg
- She moans through the pain
8. Rick: Francine, Ron... take Michonne back to the town and make sure you stay alert.
Michonne: What!? No!
Michonne: It's not that bad, I can keep going
Glenn: It doesn't make sense for you to continue on. You can barely walk and if need be, you won't be
able to run on that foot
R: You need to head back while you can, While it's still light out
D: Being on that is only gon' swell that thing up even worse and you won't be any good to us or yourself
- Michonne huffs out of frustration and unwillingly agrees. She resigns and holds up her arms as if
ready to be picked up
Ron and Francine take a side and hoist Michonne up
Michonne: Be careful out there,
Rick: We will
- Ron, Francine and Michonne start to head back
7a. Continuing on after some time Daryl seems perplexed
Daryl stops and looks carefully at the ground
Abraham: What is it?
D: They're splitting up...
Rick: What do you mean?
D: Whatever we were tracking is all splitting up. All of em'
D: Doesn't make sense
- Daryl says this more to himself
D: One set that way, one set off this way...
D: Walkers don't do that
R: Okay people, make sure you're on alert.
R towards Daryl: What do you think, should we continue on or get off this path
D: I don't think we're following anything
Abraham realizing the mistake
A: We're being led into something...
7b. It is at this point that loud music comes over the group from above. The group is startled and
confused
Abraham: What is that!? Where's it coming from??
Daryl looks above
D: It's from above! It's a trap!
R: Let's move!
9. The group all moves together and takes Rick's lead through the best looking opening of the woods. They
get to a point where Rick stops. We see some walkers coming ahead. Rick looks to the side and all
around and sees walkers approaching in every direction.
A few residents of Alexandria start to panic and get overtaken and bitten; Nicholas, Carter, and Father
Gabriel
The rest of the group fights off most of the walkers and manage to escape through an opening
As they flee. they come across the food distribution center. There is a sea of walkers heading their way.
Suddenly, the music cuts off and the walkers stop in their tracks
The group is somewhat stunned, but on alert
Mikey: What do we do??
Rick: Stay calm, we –
Rick: Ahh!
- Something is fired from an unknown location and we see Rick yell out
- We get a glimpse of Rick's leg. A dart is shown sticking out of the side of his thigh. He grabs for it
and yanks it out
- Daryl, and Abraham get into defensive positions and also take aim searching for whatever shot
at Rick
- Rick starts to say something but starts to mumble and muffle his words...his speech is slurring
R: Everyone fiiin.... covrrrrrr
Rick's eyesight gets blurry and we see his point of view begin to tilt as he falls.
- Everything goes black
- Abraham can be heard yelling in the background, although it sounds distant to Rick
A: Rick! Rick! Rick!
8. Carl is at home and some hours have passed; no word has come back about the tracking of the
intruders
- Carl hears his name being yelled from inside his house
Carol: Carl!
- Carl opens his door to find that Carol is running up to Michonne being carried by Francine and
Ron
- They bring her over to Carl's porch. Maggie and the others also come over. Morgan slowly walks
up, joining the group
- Sasha is seen assisting
Michonne: We were a good ways along the path when I got my foot caught in a trap.
C: Do you know how far they got out?
M: I'd say at least 10 miles out
.
.
M: We hadn't come across anything. It was all calm until...
- She motions to her leg
10. Several hours have passed and Carl and others are waiting and sitting on Rick's porch with no word; dusk
is setting in; the day is shown to trail along
Carl to Carol: I have to get out there and see. They should've gotten back already
Carol: But we can't leave the residents unprotected
Maggie: We don't know what they're capable of and how many there may be
Carl: Sasha will come with me
Carl: Regardless, I'm going
- Morgan steps up to the small group
Morgan: I'll come with you two
Morgan: I know how to get there
It is full on night time. They arrive and scout the area for a few moments. It is Carl, Sasha, Ron and
Morgan
Carl tries to help Rick and the group escape from Del Arno Foods, The Wolves headquarters.
- Game Action: Carl helps infiltrate the Del Arno Foods center/The Wolves headquarters
- Morgan goes up ahead
Morgan: Wait, let me lead
- They arrive and Morgan gets up close to the fence to take a close look, he inspects it and doesn't
see anything strange
- The small group creeps across the centers grounds. They all hide behind a car (The one Daryl
and Aaron were trapped in). Morgan inspects the area and doesn't see anything. He scurries
towards a door and cases out the frame and walkway. He turns back and signals the group to
head for the door
- They reach the door and Carl twists the handle. It is open. He slowly pushes it open
- Morgan grabs Carl's shoulder before he steps in
Morgan whispers to Carl: Something seems odd
Carl: What is it?
- Carl says with a hurried impatient tone
M: It just seems too easy
C: Do you see anything
M: No...
M: But maybe that's the problem...
M: The door is unlocked... no walkers...
C: Either way, we have to find them..
C: What other choice do we have?
- Morgan understands there isn't any other alternative. Rick and the group might be in there
- Morgan nods
- Carl turns his head around and sees a clear hallway.
11. They come across certain sections of the center. One being an area where meat is strung up. Instead
there are strung gagged walkers. Carl takes note of some of them as they try at the group walking
through. Carl takes particular note of one woman; (the significance it not shown yet in the part; This is
Enid's mother; Enid is Carl's crush and mystery girl as well as Ron's girlfriend. Will he be able to connect
this later on?).
- They comes across a kitchen with many appliances. An industrial mixer, juicer and blender set, a
spaghetti maker.
- Carl and the group find Rick and the others, they release them all and make a break for the
entrance that they came through.
Carl whispers: Dad!
- Rick looks up and sees Carl
Rick: instructs Carl on where the keys to the rooms are being held
- Game Action: Carl has to sneak around and find the keys to release Rick, Daryl, and the rest of
the group; covert objective
As the group is freed, they make it out and back to the entrance that Carl came through. An alarm goes
off and the group has to make more of a hurried escape.
- Rick herds the group along and makes sure that no one is left behind, he is one of the last ones
of the group.
Loud music is heard playing as Carl and the group make a run back for the tree line of the woods. The
semi's back doors open and walkers start to file out. The group bashes their way through appearing
walkers. After some time, the music suddenly stops.
Carl senses something is not right, he hasn't felt his father's presence since getting out of the center.
He looks back and sees the door open up.
12. Wolf1 drags Rick out of a door and kicks him at the knees to make him kneel. Carl suspecting
something is wrong looks back to find Rick is not around. He looks back to find Rick is still captured and
kneeling. Other members are watching from the brush line.
Wolf1: Hey! You forgot something!
Carl is watching from a hidden spot in the woods. Only his eye line is lit by light from Del Arno security
lights
- Rick closes his eyes and shakes his head, as if to communicate to Carl to stay away
There is a sea of walkers that have been released since the group has reached the tree line of the
woods. But oddly, the walkers stand calmly. There seems to be hundreds of them.
- Carl attempts to aim and shoot at Wolf1, but Glenn raises his hand and lowers the aiming arms
down
- Glenn shakes his head no, silently; in a way to signify that it's an unwise decision.
12. 13. Wolf1/W1 has his monologue
W1: This is the deal
W1: We don't really care that you're out there.
W1: We just wanted Rick... To put it this way. We love to hunt and we're just happy we're able to have
something new to lure...
W1: To trap
- W1: Judith was just bait... (initial idea was to have Judith be kidnapped in the same night that
some of the Alexandria residents were murdered)
W1: From what we have heard so far, he's prime
W1: Now, don't worry
W1: Little by little we'll pick you all apart. Hunt you guys down.
W1: But the rest of you still have time
- W1 pauses and looks down and back up
W1: And then
W1: You'll run out of time...
W1: For the residents, your group...
W1: You
W1: And when the time comes, Judith... (Judith is not even 2 years old)
W1: When she's ripe for the taking of course.
- Wolf1 takes a short pause
W1: Like we always say, "How the Harvest gets Home"
- As Wolf1 head points back to Del Arno food distribution center
W1: Oh.. and Carl, tell Deanna, we're coming back home soon
- W1 releases the safety and aims
Rick closes his eyes and begins to nod yes, as if signaling to Carl that it's ok and has accepted his fate
Carl begins to close his eyes, but then forces them open to watch. He clutches Judith to his chest
14. We get a glimpse of Carl's eyes fixed as the gunshot goes off
- A close up shows that Carl instantly jumps at the sound of the gunshot and his eyes widen
The camera cuts back to Rick as the blood sprays out from his chest
Rick's lifeless body falls in slow motion.
He is shown, lying there for several seconds
Wolf1 takes a couple steps forward and unloads a few more rounds into Rick's body
Wolf1 looks up as if to see if Carl appears
Wolf2 appears and as if used to the process begins to shift and move the body
W1: We will hunt you down, for now I think this just makes things more interesting
- A grin appears on W1's face
The loud music turns back on behind the group in the woods and the walkers animate once again,
heading for the woods.
The spot where Carl was standing is now empty.
13. The group seems to be far away now as they are in no hurry and concern of danger. Members of the
group can be heard crying. Carl is stumbling as he tries his best to contain his emotions. Glenn catches
him before he falls and consoles him. Carl is seething and uncontrollable for a moment, but they
continue on.
16. Carl and the remaining group members head back to Alexandria in the darkness of the woods
The next morning, Carl is seen staring out of the window of his room. His face is emotionless and the
sunlight through the window shows that the day is running along, but he remains still; fast motion
capture.
Rick's old sheriff hat sits on a chair near the bed
Multiple people come in and out to talk to Carl, but he hears nothing and doesn't move for them;
Everything is in fast motion
Morgan comes in and covers his view from the window. Gives a pep talk.
Morgan: You have to fight and you have to keep going
M: Your father is dead! You hear me? Dead,
M: But you still have life to preserve
M: Your father... I met him... before he found you
M: I remember how he looked for you and never gave up hope that he would find you
M: I no longer have that option, but I fight every single day
M: Your father tried to tell me how it is and I deeply regret not being there for him
- Morgan gets up and is about to leave the room, he turns back one last time
M: But I'm ready now... It's time to fight
- Can possibly put the Father/Son flash back about protecting Judith here
Upon closing of the door, tears well up in Carl's eyes and they fall down his cheek. The scene shows that
the day turns into night and Carl has not moved; The sunlight can be seen fading into dawn and then
darkness.
In the middle of the night, Carl gets up and walks over to Judith's crib. Michonne is sitting and keeping
guard but asleep. Carl goes and picks up sleeping Judith and holds her as he sits in the darkness looking
at her.
The next scene shows it is day again. Carl opens the door of his house and finds Carol and Daryl waiting.
He begins issuing commands and organizing the group and the residents to start training.
Carl begins going around to check on everyone
- Game Action: Carl organizes and leads the planning for an inevitable fight with The Wolves;
Metal Gear Solid mission planning type feature – You plan how you're going to
attack/accomplish the mission.
Carl goes and talks to Eugene who is off in some more remote area of the town.
Eugene: Good morning sir.
- Carl nods
14. Carl: Daryl said he told you of how they controlled the walkers. Any idea how they did it.
E: I started to investigate the affect on said undead and couldn't comprehend what could cause the
controlling of the un-living. (Eugene lingo; brainy and verbose)
E: However upon further reasoning, I came to the conclusion that these walkers must be responding to a
wider range of frequencies than living humans do. Hence, they are able to hear sounds and be
manipulated by them accordingly, having a disabling affect when exposed to the other spectrum.
E: Since walkers no longer have active pain receptors, they just remain controlled under this disabled
state
Carl looks at Eugene slightly unsure but with a serious expression
Eugene breaks it down in laymen's terms
E: It's sort of like when you use a dog whistle to calm or train your dog
Eugene slides open a door to reveal two chained walkers completely calm, standing in front of them
E: Utterly suppressed
Eugene then, presses a button on a radio cassette; to reveal they start to animate and get gnarly
E: And when we stop the playing of that frequency...
E: Voila, returns, the vile, flesh eating monstrosity that stand before you
E: Quite astonishing, I must say
Carl's look replies back with an accepting, yet unimpressed and still serious face
E: The only problem is that it only works for a moments at a time and not all walkers seem to respond
accordingly
C: See if we can interrupt it and reverse it
E: Yes sir
20. Carl finalizes preparations to go and attack The Wolves at the Food Distribution center
The scene show that the group is working very hard to prepare and gather tools and resources. Some
residents are shown to be practicing shooting and attacking phantom walkers.
The gate opens and there stands Carl with Rick's old sheriff hat in his hand. He looks at it and then with
his right hand puts it on his head.
Michonne is present and assumed better; We are shown her ankle and lower leg to be wrapped up
We cut to a scene where the group is in the woods and is led by Carl. They come across a large herd of
walkers; some 30-40.
- Daryl and Michonne flank Carl and they lead the attack.
Carl: Get ready
It is an extended scene that shows the group fighting for a short while. Slash after slash and bashing of
brains. The group is shown to be mowing them down as they push forward.
Towards the end, there are a few stragglers and these are taken out more one by one until Carl stops
and notices something.
There is one walker left.
- Carl, the leading person facing it, peers out at this one walker and suddenly realizes who it is.
We are shown that it is Rick/his father as a walker.
The view takes a closer look and shows that there is a bloody "W" etched into his forehead
- This makes Carl shudder and cringe, collapsing of his own weight, as he begins to sob.
15. Carl: No! No!.... No!
- Glen and Daryl get a hold of walker Rick and holds him at bay. With a firm control of him, they
brace walker Rick against a tree while looking back at Carl occasionally.
Morgan follows up behind Carl and places a hand on his shoulder/hugs him one handedly across his
chest and holds him tight.
It's ok son... It's ok. Be strong and fight; (the same words he would've said to Duane, his son that died
from a walker bite).
- After a short moment
C: Let him go.
C: I'll do it
C: Takes a pistol from Glenn that has a silencer attached
- He raises it towards walker Rick (Flood of memories of Rick and Carl?? – Night scene where he
shoots Shane??)
- He fires a head shot and takes walker Rick out. He closes his eyes and tries to hold back more
tears and emotions.
Walker Rick is seen lying on the floor face up, with a bullet wound to the forehead and a "W" beside it.
Glenn notices something on him and checks it.
- Glenn picks it up and holds it up. It is a CD case.
The camera looks at Glenn, Daryl and Carl's faces as Carl takes the CD.
The group returns back to Alexandria, unable to continue on for the attack. Carl and the group watches
the DVD. It reveals Deanna's involvement and her foreknowledge of The Wolves.
- It shows Wolf1, clean and without the 'W' scar, being interviewed by Deanna. He speaks of the
others that he arrived with.
Deanna: What's going on in your mind right now?
Wolf1: Well, we didn't know if we would ever find a safe place like this. We were starting to lose hope
Morgan: That's one of them that attacked me
De: Well this is hope returned
W1: Yes... yes it is
W1 looks down and is fiddling with something.
De: What is it?
- Short pause
W1: It's hard to understand... it's hard to believe
De: That it's real?
De: Well... it is... and you're here now and you're safe
16. The recording cuts out and a new recording begins. It is Daniel sitting on the couch, looking down at his
shoes. There is a long pause. (I have given Wolf1 a name; Daniel. The other wolves are Samuel, John,
and Isabel).
Deanna: Why did you do it, Daniel?
Daniel: To tell you the truth, I couldn't tell you
De: Try (upset tone)
Da: I guess to feel it again...
Da: To feel what it was like out there again. To let the others feel it too.
Da: You can't forget it... what it's like out there
Da: I don't want to forget
Da: To be honest... I like it.
Da: It feels good to hunt
- Da says this with an embarrassed grin on his face. He looks up to see how Deanna reacts.
The recording cuts out one more time and Daniel is shown to be sitting on the same couch. This time
with a more relaxed look; like he's got things figured out.
Deanna: You leave us with no choice, we have to exile you, John, Samuel, and Isabel
Daniel doesn't say a word
De: Your actions have caused the death of one of our residents
De: All for a sick, sadistic game...
- A momentary pause...
Da: It's not a game Deanna...
- Another temporary pause
Da: It's practice
Daniel can be seen having a mischievous smile. Deanna can be heard with a slight shudder
De: Wh... What do you mean?
- Daniel pulls out a knife and starts to examine it as he speaks
Da: You can exile us... That's perfectly fine, but we'll be back...
Da: You see the thing is... This... All of this.. it isn't yours.
Da: It never was...
De: Ss- st... stop it! Stop it Daniel!
Da: You live here now, but we want it
Da: We want all of it
Da: The houses...
Da: The food, until it runs out
Da: The hope, until that too runs out
Daniel begins to stand up and take small, slow steps around as he looks at things on the mantle, around
the house; As if his surroundings appear new to him. He steps out of view of the recording camera.
Da: The fear... The anger...
Da: Suffering...
Da: The blood
17. Da: Well.. anyways, I'm going to pack up my things and get ready...
Da: To be exiled
- He mocks placing the words in quotation marks. He makes his way to the door calmly.
Da: I look forward to seeing you again soon Deanna
- As he says stepping out of the door. The door can be heard shutting. Only the view of the couch
is seen.
Carl gets up and heads to the door. Carol holds him up gently and Carl turns his head to look at her.
- Carol whispers something into his ear.
He looks at her and nods before walking out of the door.
The next scene shows Carl knocking on a door.
The door opens and we see Spencer greet Carl.
It suddenly shift to Spencer backing up from the door and we see Carl enter and look back at the door
looking deflated/unsure/cautious as he closes it.
32. Carol is seen sitting at the table with Sam chewing. She is smiling and watching Sam eat cookies. It is
dusk. (Sam is a 8/9 year old little boy, son of Pete; executed by Rick).
C: I know I said I wouldn't bake you anymore cookies, but I figure with everything that has happened,
this might help
Sam: Thank you, these are so delicious
S: It has actually been nicer the past few days.
C: Is that right?
S: Yeah, I am actually happy he is gone.
S: You sure you don't want any
C: No, no, I am fine. Eat as much as you'd like. I cleared it with your mom already
- Sam continues to chew
35. Scene opens up in the darkness of the woods. We find Sam awakes and is a bit disoriented and
confused, groggy. His face lit by the moonlight. The sounds of growling walkers are nearby
- We hear Carol's voice:
C: Sam.... Sam.... wake up
C: C'mon now
The image is fuzzy but starts to clear up, walkers can be heard growling
Sam: Where are we?
C: We're out in the woods
S: Why? My head hurts
- Carol does not respond right away
C: It's because you were drugged Sam
C: I put sleeping aides in your cookies so that you would sleep
S: Why? Where is my mom?
C: Sam.... I know it was you that helped The Wolves sneak into town.
C: You know a lot of people died because of you and them
S: I didn't know they would do that, they were my friends
18. C: I know it was also you that left the window open to the pantry. All of our weapons were taken. I know
it was you because you're the only person that knew I snuck in using the kitchen window
A scene shows Carl wearing Rick's sheriff hat, looking off into the distance. His profile showing no
emotion
The view pans out and we find Sam is tied to a tree (Like Carol promised she would do earlier in the
series)
Sam: I had to help them, they needed my help
Carol: That's understandable...
C: But because of that, we must do this
S: I'm sorry!
C: Shh... No talking. It's fine
- Carol proceeds to gag Sam. Sam begins to yell, muffled through the gag. Tears start to fall from
his eyes as he writhes under the ropes. Carol walks up to Carl and in a low voice
Carol: Are you ready?
- Carl nods, yes
Carl un-sheathes a knife and heads past Sam and the tree that he's tied to
In this view, we see a few walkers roped to another tree. Carl cuts the ropes of each waiting walker.
We see three walkers begin to give slow chase to Carl as he dodges and directs them towards Sam.
Sam can be heard screaming and seething
Carl walks up to Carol, looks back with his peering eyes one last time and turns to continue onwards
back to town.
Carol stays behind and watches
