Internship Assessment
Daniel Sheline
EG-64
28 November 2008
Mr. Daniel Sheline, born 10 October 1985, completed an internship at our firm from May 15t
to
November 30th
, 2008. During his internship, Mr. Sheline was employed in the department of
Aerodynamics at the Munich location.
In the course of his internship, Mr. Sheline was responsible for the following tasks:
• Assembly of automotive fan test stand: Monitoring of delivery, verification (CATIA)
and assembly of components of the test stand. Participating in setting up the
measurement instrumentation.
• Measurement of aerodynamic and electric properties on the fan test stand:
Establishment of understanding for the various measurement techniques and associated
sensitivities used on the test stand (pressure, velocity, mass flow, speed, electricity).
Establishment of a measurement program. Execution of measurements for several fans
and a multitude of operating points.
Mr. Sheline, having little experience in aerodynamics prior to this internship, familiarized quickly to
the general principles of flow dynamics and flow measurement techniques and the special
knowledge in automotive fan research.
During the internship Mr. Sheline always worked very reliably and conscientiously. In view of his
rapid perception, it was possible to entrust him with complex tasks early on, which he could
complete autonomously. He displayed willingness to work and initiative, and the work results
were, even in the event of changing requirements and in difficult cases, always of good quality.
His work speed when processing the tasks was above our expectations and the work given to
him was always completed to our full satisfaction.
His personal behaviour was always beyond reproach. He is held in esteem by superiors and his
colleagues, not only because of his ability to integrate quickly into a new environment but also
because of his positive attitude towards challenges.
