This document analyzes crime data from 2008 to 2015 in Washington D.C., finding over 276,000 total reported crimes across 39 neighborhoods. Theft and robbery were the most common crimes reported. Certain neighborhoods like Dupont Circle and Columbia Heights had higher crime rates per city block than others. While crime rates increased in some areas from 2008 to 2015, they decreased in neighborhoods like Dupont Circle. The analysis is limited by unreported crimes and broad crime classifications.
