Jane Mcgonigal is a game designer whose number 1 goal is to see video games
win the Nobel peace prize. “I’ve forecast that this will happen by the year 2023.
Of course, it’s not enough to just forecast the future — I’m also actively working
to make it a reality.”
In her presentation she talks about how video gaming can make a bette
world. Jane Mcgonigal talked about how if we play more video games in
future we can solve most of the worlds issues.
She maintained her engagement by talking
directly to the audience as people.
Her presentation was very entertaining because she took a issue that
relatable to many people video games and told everyone that this can
used to improve the future greatly. She made it clear and easy to
understand.
When she first started talking she was very confident in what she
was talking about she also talked about how if we get more
people to play games we can make a better world.
Jane Mcgonigal told us that the world currently plays 3 billion
hours a week.
She then said that in order to make the world a better place we
need the world to play 21 billion hours a week.
She talked that when you are playing a video game you become
the best version of your self you could possible be.
When you are playing video games you are more open to solving
problems, talking things out and you become a more positive
person
• Other problems she talked about are global warming,
economic depression, staring your own business and video
games can make you the best version of ourselves.
• Compared to Ken Robinson She also did a great job. She had
a delivered her speech a little differently but she got her point
across with as much detail as Ken Robinson.
She used the second ted commandments Thou Shalt Dream a
Great Dream, or Show Forth a Wondrous New Thing, Or Share
Something Thou Hast Never Shared Before. Before.
She mentioned her dream that in the future everyone will play
video games to solve world problems.
Her dynamism
was a 5 out of five
she had a great
idea and she
backed it up with
facts.
If she used anything from Garr Reynolds or Nancy Duarte was
that she was organized with her facts.
I learned from her presentation that my interest can effect the
future for the better.
If I can give any tips to my fellow students it is to
talk about something that is important to you
and make it relatable to others.
