The global mobilization behind the Millennium
Development Goals has produced the most successful
anti-poverty movement in history. The landmark
commitment entered into by world leaders in the year
2000—to “spare no effort to free our fellow men,
women and children from the abject and dehumanizing
conditions of extreme poverty”—was translated into
an inspiring framework of eight goals and, then, into
wide-ranging practical steps that have enabled people
across the world to improve their lives and their future
prospects. The MDGs helped to lift more than one billion
people out of extreme poverty, to make inroads against
hunger, to enable more girls to attend school than ever

Globally, there have been a reduction in poverty levels and diseases with the adoption and implementation on the global millennium development goals from year 2000 to 2015. In September 2015, the world gathered to adopt yet another set of goals, this time 17 sustainable development goals with 169 indicators for the next 15 years. The presentation delivered at IMANI Ghana organized Students and Young Professionals African Liberty Academy-SYPALA at the University of Ghana businesses school, tried to answer the question of "how Africa fared with the MDGs and whether Africa should bother with the new SDGs.

Millennium Development Goal progress report 2014, The
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were a pledge
to uphold the principles of human dignity, equality and
equity, and free the world from extreme poverty. The
MDGs, with eight goals and a set of measurable timebound
targets, established a blueprint for tackling the
most pressing development challenges of our time. This report examines the latest progress towards
achieving the MDGs. It reaffirms that the MDGs
have made a profound difference in people’s lives.
Global poverty has been halved five years ahead of
the 2015 timeframe. Ninety per cent of children in
developing regions now enjoy primary education, and
disparities between boys and girls in enrolment have
narrowed. Remarkable gains have also been made in
the fight against malaria and tuberculosis, along with
improvements in all health indicators. The likelihood of
a child dying before age five has been nearly cut in half
over the last two decades. That means that about 17,000
children are saved every day. We also met the target
of halving the proportion of people who lack access to
improved sources of water.

This agenda is a road map for people and the planet that will build on the success of the Millennium Development Goals and ensure sustainable social and economic progress worldwide. It seeks not only to eradicate extreme poverty, but also to integrate and balance the three dimensions of sustainable development—economic, social and environmental—in a comprehensive global vision.
It is vital that we begin implementation with a sense of opportunity and purpose based on an accurate evaluation of where the world stands now.
That is the aim of this report. It presents an overview of the 17 Goals using data currently available to highlight the most significant gaps and challenges.
The latest data show that about one in eight people still lived in extreme poverty, nearly 800 million people suffered from hunger, the births of nearly a quarter of children under 5 had not been recorded, 1.1 billion people were living without electricity, and water scarcity affected more than 2 billion people.
These statistics show how important coordinated global data-generation efforts will be in supplying reliable and timely data for systematic follow-up and progress reviews.
The Goals apply to all societies. Even the wealthiest countries have yet to fully empower women or eliminate discrimination.All nations will need to build the Sustainable Development Goals into their national policies and plans if we are to achieve them.
This first report is a starting point. With collective global action, we can seize the opportunities before us and, together,fulfill the pledge of the 2030 Agenda to leave no one behind.

Millennium Development Goals Report 2012
The Millennium Development Goals Report 2012 was launched in New York by the Secretary-General on 2 July 2012. The report presents the yearly assessment of global progress towards the MDGs, highlighting several milestones – three important MDG targets have been met well ahead of the target date of 2015. The report says that meeting the remaining targets, while challenging, remain possible - but only if Governments do not waiver from their commitments made over a decade ago. The report is based on a master set of data compiled by the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on MDG indicators led by the Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

The Goals apply to all societies. Even the wealthiest countries have yet to fully empower women or eliminate discrimination.All nations will need to build the Sustainable Development Goals into their national policies and plans if we are to achieve them.
This first report is a starting point. With collective global action, we can seize the opportunities before us and, together,fulfill the pledge of the 2030 Agenda to leave no one behind.

Millennium Development Goals Report 2012
The Millennium Development Goals Report 2012 was launched in New York by the Secretary-General on 2 July 2012. The report presents the yearly assessment of global progress towards the MDGs, highlighting several milestones – three important MDG targets have been met well ahead of the target date of 2015. The report says that meeting the remaining targets, while challenging, remain possible - but only if Governments do not waiver from their commitments made over a decade ago. The report is based on a master set of data compiled by the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on MDG indicators led by the Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

Filippijnenkoffer
Deze koffer bevat tal van mogelijkheden om op een ervaringsgerichte wijze de Filippijnen te leren kennen. Je kan er mee aan de slag bij de oudste kleuters en in de 1ste graad, in de 2de graad en in de 3de graad. Voor iedere doelgroep is een aparte methodiek uitgewerkt.
De oudste kleuters en 1ste graad maken kennis met Raichel. Een fotoverhaal brengt 5 thema's en tal van bijhorende verwerkingsactiviteiten aan.
De 2de graad leert Ricanara kennen via beeldfragmenten. Als verwerking zijn er tal van activiteiten die verbonden zijn aan 5 thema's.
In de 3de graad zullen 5 Filippijnse kinderen én 5 ontdekdozen (waarin een Filippijns ingrediënt centraal staat) de leerlingen aanzetten tot exploreren en experimenteren om achteraf de ervaringen te delen met hun klasgenoten.
Het project wordt afgesloten met een spetterende fiësta. Met een ruim aanbod aan muzische activiteiten ben je zo aan het feesten, alleen in je klas of samen met andere klassen of zelfs met de hele school.

This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing.
