Dear Sir/Ma’am,
I would like to submit my credentials for your review for this program management
position.
December 2016, I completed over 20 years of military service combined with US Air Force
Reserves and the U.S. Army Reserves, my last 14 years under the Civil Affairs and Psychology
Operation Command that assist in the development of third world country’s infrastructures. As a
former employee of U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development it has
been quite a pleasure to have seen the synergy between both government agencies and the military
to improve life and build democracy within various countries. My current government status is a
TS/SCI clearance, career-conditional status, a bachelor’s in economics and this past summer 2017
completed the Lean Six Sigma Course to prepare for the PMP examination. My foreign language
knowledge consists of French and Arabic.
While at USAID, I interned in the Latin American Bureau with Economic Team and later
accepted a detail as a program specialist with the Office of the East Africa Bureau/Desk for the next
five years to manage operations of funds approximately 75 to 80 projects with a budget of $500
million and supervised 3 program assistants to implement quarterly payments to contractors, manage
project timelines, project status and completions.
In addition, I possess work experience in austere environments as a senior project manager,
I was assigned as a US liaison to the Polish General in 2006-2007, Camp Echo to manage, monitor
and report project status to the J9 and in addition I was flown bi-weekly to the green-zone to
USAID Mission in Baghdad for meetings with other government dignitaries. As the U.S. Senior
Project Manager in wartime theater. I managed nearly 100 development projects in the surrounding
provinces of Diwaniyah consisted of a variety of projects such as debris removal, farming, rebuilding
schools, medical facilities and local businesses destroyed due to conflicts. Held responsibility of our
linguist team to infiltrate various mosques.
My highest and most recent distinguished awards received includes a Bronze Star for
exemplary performance in Iraq, received my second Meritorious Service Medal prior to retirement
and many other government performance awards. My extensive knowledge over the years as a
project manager and budget analyst to manage office payroll, program budgets, sole source bids,
contractual agreements and troubleshoot financial irregularities has been a rewarding experience.
2. Some of my extracurricular activities involve working with the Veterans Awareness Project
(VAP) a non-profit organization assisting veteran needs, assisting California Congressman Tony
Cardenas with the selection of military cadets and Veteran Day Ceremonies.
