Greenpeace presentation to the FAO Committee on Fisheries: "IUU Fishing Exposing the system and
loopholes that keep pirates plundering the oceans". March 2009.
The document outlines a promotional campaign for the Architecture Library at the University of Oklahoma. The overall goal is to increase the library's visibility within the College of Architecture. Key objectives include creating a cohesive image for the library, increasing faculty involvement through bibliographic instruction sessions, and increasing understanding of the library's resources and special collections. The campaign will be evaluated through surveys and by monitoring various metrics like instruction sessions and material usage.

The document discusses notable events that occurred on March 5th and provides information about World Maths Day which is celebrated annually on March 7th. It mentions that over 150 countries have registered over 1 million students to participate in math challenges for World Maths Day 2008. It also lists meeting times and statistics from previous math question answering events, and provides the website for World Maths Day.
This document promotes a multi-level marketing opportunity selling nutritional products. It claims the products can improve health by alkalizing the body. It describes compensation plans that pay commissions for recruiting new distributors who purchase starter packs and generate sales. Building a large downline organization through exponential growth is emphasized as the key to substantial residual income.
This document proposes an ecological learning design framework. It begins by discussing existing frameworks around knowledge ecologies and their focus on information, meanings, networks, and connections. However, these frameworks do not clearly explain how ecology functions. The document then elaborates on deepening the ecological approach to emphasize the central role of activities in knowledge ecologies. It proposes components for a learning ecology framework, including that knowledge is distributed and inheres in social practices and relationships between people, tools, and environments involved in activities. Networks are interpreted as dynamically evolving activity systems.
The document discusses two perspectives for monitoring innovation in schools as learning ecosystems: (1) examining how teachers use digital tools and resources in "trialogical learning scenarios", and (2) analyzing schools' development over time within their broader socio-technical context. It provides examples of monitoring learning scenarios through an e-learning platform and using linked school data to understand factors that promote innovation. The goal is to understand how knowledge sharing and creation occurs within schools and how some schools become more innovative than others.
The document summarizes Terry McAndrew's experiences with social media and technology for disabled students. It discusses:
1) The conference aims to provide an overview of using social media in teaching and learning, highlight challenges and opportunities for disabled students, and help disability services contribute to institutional social media strategies.
2) McAndrew's personal history working in technology and developing an awareness of disabilities through family and teaching. He helped create infrastructure and organized projects at various universities.
3) The risks of using social media personally and professionally, and how disability could factor into issues like reputation management or privacy. Ensuring accessibility and usability of online communities for disabled users is also discussed.
4) The work of JIS
This document provides guidance for using assessment for learning (IDEAL) in marking student work. It aims to give regular, content-specific feedback to students and parents to inform students of their level and how to improve. The process involves using Bloom's taxonomy to set targets linked to curriculum levels. Staff provide written feedback and targets using a spreadsheet template, which is then printed onto labels or stickers for students. The goal is for marking to be more meaningful and provide clear guidance on next steps in learning.
This presentation contains inspirational quotes and messages about friendship, life lessons, and finding meaning and purpose. It encourages the listener to appreciate what they have, make the most of today, and find people who share your vision for the future. The presentation wishes the listener good health, comfort, sustenance, and a place to live on Earth.
The document appears to be a collection of math and numeracy problems for students. It includes questions about numbers of objects, measurements, conversions between units, and calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The questions cover a wide range of topics including art, science, history, geography and more.
The document discusses top-down and bottom-up approaches to curriculum development and maturing. Traditionally, standards are developed top-down but courses can evolve standards bottom-up by incorporating new knowledge and competencies. Curricula can mature through bottom-up contributions from courses that help standards evolve. Semantic mapping of curricula, standards, competencies, activities and assessments allows for academic analytics and formative evaluation to support ongoing curriculum improvement through bottom-up and top-down processes.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

IUU Fishing on Trial
1. IUU fishing on trial
Exposing the system and
loopholes that keep pirates
plundering the oceans
FAO Committee on Fisheries
Rome, 5th March 2009
2. IUU fishing levels remain too high
8 years after the FAO IPOA
Estimations suggest that between 11-19% of the
global catch is derived from IUU activities
Overcapacity and shrinking resources exacerbate
the problem – very little progress in capacity
reduction
3. FAO IPOA on IUU fishing
Key instrument but voluntary
Progress has been slow
Little use of regional plans of action
4. Regional Fisheries Bodies
Different degrees of performance
Not equally efficient when IUU fishing is
carried out by CPs
Lack of communication between RFBs
5. Main loopholes
Transshipments and resupplying of vessels – lack
of controls over non-fishing vessels
Re-flagging – lack of vessels traceability
Weak port controls, granting of port services
other than offloading
Irresponsible flag states
6. Main loopholes
Measures against vessels but not against
nationals or companies
Poor communication between governments and
organizations
Lack of will to put time and resources on the issue
7. The case of Vidal Armadores S.A.
