Israel is a small country located in Southwest Asia between latitudes 29° N and 34° N, and longitudes 34° E and 35° E. It is bounded by Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan to the east, Egypt to the southwest, and the Mediterranean Sea to the west. Israel has four main physical divisions - the Western Coastal Strip, the Jordan Rift Valley, central hills, and the Negev Desert in the south. Agriculture, including farming in kibbutzim and moshavim, fishing, mining, industries like pharmaceuticals and aerospace, and tourism are important economic activities in Israel.
