This document announces a conference on migration over seas to be held on June 17, 2016 in Paris. The conference will include two sessions discussing challenges around massive migration to the EU and external challenges to European integration from migration. Session 1 will focus on issues facing the EU with massive migration, including talks on contemporary trans-Mediterranean migration, the role of civil society in migrant integration, and EU border security challenges. Session 2 will discuss history lessons for European policymaking and connections between terrorism and migration, as well as case studies from Turkey, Greece, and the work of civil organizations assisting migrants at sea. Attendees can pre-order a copy of the conference organizer's biannual publication on geostrategic maritime issues.
