Editor's Notes

  • #4 Everyone seems to be selling a job – be it the company HR, the recruiter or the placement office. School won’t let you take more than one job. Are you making the right choice – clearly something that causes all of you much tension and confusion. It did to me 16 years ago. You need someone to who has been there done that and can share a dispassionate, honest view of the what ‘really’ exists out there.Once you join you can’t quit in 3 months, as it looks bad in your resume. At times it may take 2-3 years to figure out that this is not what you wanted to do.KPOs/BPOs come with fancy titles.MNC bank recruiting a market research analyst. Job – calling up people.Who better to hear this from other than senior industry executives who have been in the industry for 10-15 years. ePoise mentoring sessions focus on entry level MBA job roles. They demystify these job roles but also provide guidance on securing them.Nature of jobSkill expectationsGrowth paths availablehow to prepare of such job rolesThe problem is that for most of us in 99% b-schools such an access to executives is not available. Why?Logistical constraintsIndividual motivations may not be met by schoolsWhich is where ePoise comes in: we make this possible by getting them on our platform and making this connect with you. Our model breaks the barriers of access. The other important part in this are the companies – the recruiters. As we get more and more students on the platform, companies will start using ePoise as a platform for talent sourcing. They will use ePoise to engage with and source talent. They struggle with the following:-I don’t have resources go to so many colleges for recruitment. - Attrition is so high. They don’t know what they are getting into.- Naukri, other job portals and recruiters give me 90% junk resumes! Even those 10% are inflated. I need an active profile, not just a resume to shortlist.- Need one national platform to market myself, engage with and source talent from.- How can I reduce my recruiting and on-boarding cost?Students benefit from all this + have an opportunity to network and build relationships not limited to the walls of the campus. Network with other students as well as with industry execs. So, For us – ePoise is the ultimate equalizer in this unequal world of unequal opportunities and exposure. We truly believe that everyone has potential. Our mission to provide the exposure, support and opportunity to help you make that leap.-------------------Career guidance - Career paths available and growth opportunitiesNo need to google to find out what a job description means and what the career prospects areInsights on what companies look for when recruiting and how to prepare for it – Regular posts from ePoise and the community. Industry answers what industry needsJob role, nature of workNo need to frantically look for an alumni who could advice you about working in an organization, in a role.First hand advise from mentors or seek advise from a community of mentors, alumni and industry executivesEnhances visibility to a wide audience in a value added mannerOf hiring managersYour ‘active’ profile - visible to recruiting companies – your contribution measured and visible to hiring companiesEndorsement from executives – Your contribution gets endorsed, responded to by practicing managersBuild relationships across borders – Building effective professional relationships outside the confines of your local community.Keeps you updated on a real time basisIndustry trends & insights, entrepreneurial stories – straight fro the horse’s mouth.
  • #6 Our backgroundsHiring experience from campusesInteraction with students at campusesOur beliefOur backgroundsWe are from small town India - we have succeededHiring experience from campusesFar removed from reality – do not know what they are getting into.Make wrong career choicesInteraction with students at campusesLimited access. Institute serious but cant muster resources. We went but our friends wouldn’t ‘cos either there would be logistical challeges or no advantage in building a personal brand ……………..Our beliefEvery student has a future. It’s a question of fitment and not whether one is good enuff or not. The executives in the industry do want to reach out to contribute to this development opportunity for the youth of the country if only somebody would makeit easy 
