The Las Vegas supermen thank shutters for kicking their career off and take yet more
trophies home
Shutters: “How was it kicking the event off tonight?”
Ronnie: “It’s a great way to start if you have been chosen to play out of all of these great
musicians it’s like winning an by itself to perform for some of my idols and really inspired for
me to pursue a career in music”
Shutters: You guys won the best UK festival headline act of 2014 you must be pretty
pleased!
Brandon Flowers- “I was trying to spit something out but the whole thing got to my head
and was talking rubbish. When I was a teenager trying to find my feet in music I had many
Shutter posters on my wall. And after we were in the magazine and had an article we had
about 7 record labels APPROACH US! Instead of getting turned down like we had been so
many times before. So I will always be thankful to Shutters for helping us win this great
award”
Shutters: Now you have one so many awards what goes down as you’re favourite?!
Ronnie: “All trophies are good trophies but the one that stands out would have to be
umm…. Our two BRIT awards.”
Shutters- What will happen to this award now will it go home on the mantelpiece of get lost
in one of your lofts?
Ronnie: (Laughs) we take pride on our awards man but we have been known to loose on or
two when they have been on the mantelpiece so I can say on behalf of everyone we don’t
actually know. The airport security might take it
Shutters: Everyone in there has had a drink or two but that’s in the worst state?
Brandon- The night is only young although now we’ve got this Ronnie might have something
to do with it in an hours’ time. Come back and ask us then (Laughs)
Shutters: Who would you give an award to in the room to and what for?
Brandon “It’s an honour to be here with Johnny Marr so I would say him for being him but I
mean come on have you heard some of his stuff (Smiling shack of the head forward) he was
a real role model for me especially so you have got to give him one Wouldn’t you?

Shutters- On the subject of Johnny how much would you pay him to reform the smiths for
one night only?
Brandon “CAN YOU PUT A FIGURE ON THAT NO! Although there is always talk but
realistically I can’t see it happening after all of those lawsuit shenanigans”
Shutters: How will you celebrate the ward later on tonight got anything lined up yet?
Ronnie: “Of course we have we are going to a dark underground place with Paul Weller”
Brandon” Yeah it’s a town called Malice! And sounds pretty good so might get check it out
(Laughs)!”
Shutters- What is different between your other 3 studio records and this new fourth one?
Brandon- “Well since you ask that question I think that we have err shown another side to
us we are much more tender compared to the live music we are used to and defiantly taken
a different road to go down compared to the other three.”
Shutters- Whatare youplanningforthe future?
Ronnie- “We always have ideas on the go but most of them get flushed Out early on but we
always have 40 to 50 ideas but not lyrics are in place for those ideas. You here bands go on
like yeah we have 40 songs ready to go but just weren’t good enough but we are honest
there were only 15 songs that were done and we left because we weren’t sure on how they
would go down.”
