- On the contrary, in other recent projects, with a more funky mood, he focuses more on the creation of a friendly atmosphere with a strong propensity for socialization and increasing also playful aspects. In the Mama Shelter restaurant in Paris (2008), guests are welcomed in a warm and informal atmosphere, similar to a contemporary kibbutz, where the socialization is facilitated amongst large tables in rough wood, vintage furniture, graffiti on the ceilings, and large foosball tables for 8 players. (it is a new informal mood that is very different from the sophisticated atmospheres of his previous hotels and restaurants like the BON) PLAYFUL=LUDICI
- The restaurant’s name clearly expresses the familiar mood of the place, with a friendly atmosphere, but where guests are suddenly put in front of something that is familiar, but at the same time unusual and estranging, like the long table d’hôte, a counter for thirty persons, where people who don’t know each other can sit together, socializing, to taste the chef Alain Senderens’ dishes. The human and social dimension is fundamental in this Starck’s concept work. As he states, the philosophy of Mama Shelter concept represents the vision of a story: “a human story, a a story of a meeting, a deep friendship. People who love each other. This is the starting point (of this project) of everything”.

(also a socializing device: if a normal table football makes 4 people socialize, this makes 8 people socialize) In this case, the surprise for the guest is also to found in a restaurant hall, whose usual function should be simply to be a place used for the meals consumption, unexpected elements such as a Ping-Pong table, musical instruments and other recreational equipment . Therefore, the recreational playful dimension is strengthened (STRENGFENT)

- Marina Bay Sands un resort di lusso che include un casinò, shopping mall, sala convegni, un museo, due isole artificiali in fase di costruzione e la piscina più alta del mondo, situata in una sorta di "trave" che unisce i tre grattacieli della struttura a oltre 200 metri d'altezza.
- Nuovi alberghi troveranno spazio all’interno di tre grattacieli di 55 piani con 1000 stanze ciascuno. Le tre torri saranno collegate in cima da un enorme skygarden che offrirà una vista mozzafiato a 360 gradi sull’intera città. L’insolito ponte ospiterà ulteriori strutture riservate ai clienti dell’hotel: percorsi jogging, piscine, spa e spazi verdi all’aperto. È inoltre prevista la realizzazione di un museo d’arte e scienza, un centro commerciale, un centro congressi, due teatri da 2000 posti a sedere, un casino ed un parcheggio con 4mila posti auto.
- Il complesso comprende tra le cose oltre 2.500 stanze, una sala congressi da 250.000 metri quadrati che funge anche da polo per le esibizioni e, come già detto, un casinò. 8 miliardi di dollari di investimento per un complesso che in realtà è in buona compagnia.Non solo perché è formato da 3 torri e perché i tavoli da gioco sono 600 (più altri 30 esclusivi e riservati a clienti selezionati) e le slot machine 1.500 ma anche perché la società che lo gestisce la Las Vegas Sands è proprietaria di resort/hotel/casinò tra i più famosi al mondo, tra cui il Venetian (edificio che replica fedelmente il capoluogo Veneto), il Palazzo (entrambi a Las Vegas) e un'altro Venetian a Macao, tanto per citare alcuni progetti.
- Fare il bagno in questa piscina non è solo un'esperienza che completa il lussuoso soggiorno nel resort ma anche un'emozionante punto di vista sulla baia, un belvedere "acquatico" lungo 150 metri in cui fare il bagno e godersi il panorama. La piscina è famosa non solo per la sua grandezza ma anche per il suo essere borderless, senza bordi appunto. Confondendosi direttamente con l'orizzonte e dando l'impressione di cadere nel vuoto.
- Magari non tutti lo sanno ma questo complesso di edifici è stato costruito in un terreno strappato al mare grazie ad un lavoro di bonifica, infatti Singapore è un piccolissimo stato dalle dimensioni paragonabili quasi a quelle di Montecarlo. Per poter costruire però non è bastato solamente bonificare il terreno (che in realtà è il fondale marino "riportato" in superficie) argilloso e decisamente non idoneo a sostenere alcun peso. Per le fondamenta sono stati così costruiti dei muri diaframmatici (per evitare ogni infiltrazione nella zona delle fondamenta) di calcestruzzo che hanno un'altezza di 50 metri e disegnano una pianta circolare o ad arachide (praticamente due cerchi che si intersecano). Per la costruzione dei tre grattacieli l'organizzazione degli operai è stata una parte fondamentale del progetto, che contava circa 16.500 operai per ogni torre, tutto ciò ha permesso di poter realizzare il lavoro in 3 anni, ad un ritmo di 1 piano ogni 4 giorni senza particolari imprevisti. Tranne uno, giusto piccolo piccolo. La crisi economica del Settembre 2008. Tralasciando i vari problemi progettuali questo è stato senz'altro il problema più grave che hanno dovuto risolvere. In pochi giorni i maggiori mercati azionari sono crollati rivelando una situazione di crisi in cui nessuno aveva più intenzione di rischiare nulla. In realtà il resort rappresentava una torta troppo grande per essere lasciata in mano ai mercati e alla sfiducia. Così l'amministratore delegato della Las Vegas Sands decise di tirare fuori di tasca sua i soldi (si parla di almeno 4-5 miliardi di dollari) necessari a continuare la costruzione. La mossa seppur azzardata ha dato i suoi frutti, permettendo il completamento del resort in tempi brevi.
