Topics to Address
#2. My most satisfying experience over the past week was working with Deborah in the PALS
administration office. I learned how to take in money from other facilities and prepare if for the
bank deposit pickup. This was satisfying because I have never had a job where that was one of
my responsibilities, and I enjoy learning and doing new job duties. Taking in money is a
common duty for many jobs so I am glad I can now say I know how to do if correctly. Deborah
also showed me how to balance the revenue for all the PALS areas. She does this on a weekly
basis.
My least satisfying experience is hard to pin point. In four days I really can say I have enjoyed
every moment at this job. Everyone has made me feel at home, and shown me the ropes. One
thing that I did not enjoy was losing in Wii Bowling and Pickleball. Both times I played against
Senior citizen, and I figured that I would have no problem winning, but I was wrong. I do not
like to lose, but they did not rub it in. I was told “good game”, and “better luck next time”. I was
most impressed by the Pickleball team that beat me and my partner 11-3. I plan on getting a
rematch sometime this summer.
#3. There have been several situations where I have used knowledge and skills learned from
school, and applied them to work related activities. First I already am familiar with some of the
vocabulary that I would have had to ask about 2 years ago. For example, Bob has mentioned the
Master Plan from the past, and one he is working on for the future. Also, I have heard the terms
Army Core, programming, facility maps, CPR / AED training, just to name a few. Thanks to my
professors at UNT, I am familiar in these areas. I have also helped with checking the daily
budget for the PALS department. We ran a report that showed all the revenue for facilities, and
online transactions. Then we compared them with the entries made in the deposit ledger. If the
numbers do no match up you have to do a little investigation to find out what the issue is.
#4. I have seen two of my goals progressing over the past week. First of all, I have met 10
people this week that could be potently networking partners. Over the next 12 weeks I will be
working with these same people, so more than others. I plan on exchanging information and
keeping in contact with those that a build a stronger relationship with. Another goal that is
progressing is learning formats of the professional parks and recreation employees. I have been
shown the process of creating and getting approval for flyers, programs, and money. Most things
do not happen over night, and the process must be done correctly to get approval.

  • 3. Topics to Address #2. My most satisfying experience over the past week was working with Deborah in the PALS administration office. I learned how to take in money from other facilities and prepare if for the bank deposit pickup. This was satisfying because I have never had a job where that was one of my responsibilities, and I enjoy learning and doing new job duties. Taking in money is a common duty for many jobs so I am glad I can now say I know how to do if correctly. Deborah also showed me how to balance the revenue for all the PALS areas. She does this on a weekly basis. My least satisfying experience is hard to pin point. In four days I really can say I have enjoyed every moment at this job. Everyone has made me feel at home, and shown me the ropes. One thing that I did not enjoy was losing in Wii Bowling and Pickleball. Both times I played against Senior citizen, and I figured that I would have no problem winning, but I was wrong. I do not like to lose, but they did not rub it in. I was told “good game”, and “better luck next time”. I was most impressed by the Pickleball team that beat me and my partner 11-3. I plan on getting a rematch sometime this summer. #3. There have been several situations where I have used knowledge and skills learned from school, and applied them to work related activities. First I already am familiar with some of the vocabulary that I would have had to ask about 2 years ago. For example, Bob has mentioned the Master Plan from the past, and one he is working on for the future. Also, I have heard the terms Army Core, programming, facility maps, CPR / AED training, just to name a few. Thanks to my
  • 4. professors at UNT, I am familiar in these areas. I have also helped with checking the daily budget for the PALS department. We ran a report that showed all the revenue for facilities, and online transactions. Then we compared them with the entries made in the deposit ledger. If the numbers do no match up you have to do a little investigation to find out what the issue is. #4. I have seen two of my goals progressing over the past week. First of all, I have met 10 people this week that could be potently networking partners. Over the next 12 weeks I will be working with these same people, so more than others. I plan on exchanging information and keeping in contact with those that a build a stronger relationship with. Another goal that is progressing is learning formats of the professional parks and recreation employees. I have been shown the process of creating and getting approval for flyers, programs, and money. Most things do not happen over night, and the process must be done correctly to get approval.
