This letter summarizes an internship report submitted by Racy Daniel Godino to his supervisor at Eastern University. The report examines the contribution of foreign exchange at National Bank Ltd., where Godino completed his internship. It includes sections on the bank's profile, foreign exchange operations, documents used, letters of credit, import, export, and foreign remittance. The report also analyzes National Bank's performance compared to other private banks in terms of import, export, and remittance volumes. While banks play an important role in foreign trade, the summary notes the banking sector in Bangladesh currently faces issues like a culture of default that impacts bank performance.
The report is originated in result of my internship, which I have done, as a requirement of BBA program. This report is done based on my three months internship in Janata Bank Limited.
During my stay at the office as an internee I never felt vague and ambiguous. The environment of the Janata Bank Ltd. is well and friendly. The staffs are specialized in their respective fields. Each of them works on their own and there id supervised from the top management. The motivation of the staff, I believe comes from the very sense of responsibility.

The main purpose of the program is to expose the students to the real world situations. This report has been prepared as a requirement of the internship program.
This internship program facilitates a student to bring light on their theoretical knowledge to apply this in practical ground. I was assigned to Janata Bank, ICMH Branch.
After the birth of Bangladesh on 16th December 1971, newly formed Janata Bank for mass banking got special facilities from the government to work as nationalized commercial bank all over the country. With the increase of responsibility and by virtue of performance within a few years, it becomes the largest commercial bank of the country with 911 branches including 4 overseas branches at United Arab Emirates. It is linked with more than 1239 foreign correspondents all over the world. Total employees of JBL are more than 13 thousands (13,188). The Impact of Liquidity on Profitability on Selected Banks of Bangladesh Samia Ibrahim
This research seeks to establish a relationship between liquidity and profitability which may assess in liquidity management in the banks in Bangladesh. There has been a wide range of study on the concepts of liquidity and profitability. My research differs from the previous works as such research was not done in the context of Bangladeshi banking sector using recent data.

The report is made under practical experience and theoretical knowledge. As a bank is a financial institution, its performance measurement tools are different from others.
Techniques to optimize the pagerank algorithm usually fall in two categories. One is to try reducing the work per iteration, and the other is to try reducing the number of iterations. These goals are often at odds with one another. Skipping computation on vertices which have already converged has the potential to save iteration time. Skipping in-identical vertices, with the same in-links, helps reduce duplicate computations and thus could help reduce iteration time. Road networks often have chains which can be short-circuited before pagerank computation to improve performance. Final ranks of chain nodes can be easily calculated. This could reduce both the iteration time, and the number of iterations. If a graph has no dangling nodes, pagerank of each strongly connected component can be computed in topological order. This could help reduce the iteration time, no. of iterations, and also enable multi-iteration concurrency in pagerank computation. The combination of all of the above methods is the STICD algorithm. [sticd] For dynamic graphs, unchanged components whose ranks are unaffected can be skipped altogether.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
An internship program is very important & essential for acquiring experience through
learning and spreading the scope of Knowledge. I have done my internship program in
National Bank Limited.
This internship report is aimed at providing a comprehensive picture to the areas of
Contribution of Foreign Exchange of Commercial Banks of Bangladesh: A Case Study
with National Bank Ltd.” The report has been divided into several parts. These are:
Introduction, Corporate review of National Bank Limited (NBL), Foreign Exchange, and
Documents Used in Foreign Exchange Business, Letter of Credit (L/C), Import, Export,
Foreign Remittance, Findings and Analysis, References.
National Bank Limited is one of the largest commercial Bank in Bangladesh. The main
objective of the Bank is to provide all of banking services at the doorsteps of the people. The
Bank also participates in various social and development programs and takes part in
implementation of various policies and promises made by the Government.
National Bank Limited plays a pioneering role in handling foreign trade and foreign
exchange transactions. With wide network of branches at home and a large number of
correspondent banks worldwide, it is handling the largest volume of export-import business
including homebound remittances. For this reason, Foreign Exchange of the Bank is very
much essential. But, now a day’s banking sector of Bangladesh is suffering the disease of
default culture which is the consequence or result of bad performance of most banks.
In this report a comparison is shown among five private Ltd. Banks. These banks are-
Southeast Bank Ltd., Bank Asia Ltd., Dhaka Bank Ltd., AB Bank Ltd. and National Bank
Ltd. All these Banks are contributing a lot to the total Import and Export of Bangladesh.
Another comparative scenario is shown which is between the performances of Private Ltd.
Banks and Public Ltd. Banks. This research will obviously help everyone to understand the
contributing of Banks from the perspective of Foreign Exchange of Bangladesh.
I have taken all the reasonable care to ensure the accuracy and quality to make the report
standard. And I believe that it has included all the necessary information to be relevant.
