Rethinking the intelligence cycle using social mediaAugust Jackson
Social media inside and outside the enterprise changes every stage of the traditional intelligence cycle. Social media moves more quickly than traditional media, gives us a two-way intimacy with sources and stakeholders and upends long-standing assumptions about secrecy. Technology and platforms change quickly, and CI professionals must develop an ability to experiment and adapt to these changes.
This document provides an overview of strategies for connecting with and engaging Millennial audiences. It begins with an introduction to the IPG Media Lab and its focus on audience-based solutions. The document then discusses how Millennials differ from older audiences in their distrust of advertising and preference for mobile media. Key trends for brands to capitalize on include the rise of wearable devices and streaming content. The document advocates using rewards to generate excitement and positive brand perceptions. It concludes by emphasizing the need for brands to experiment with new technologies, exchange value for customer data, and create native content to engage Millennials.
Social media marketing, in its many forms, has taken the business world by storm. The compelling speed, costeffectiveness and customer engagement benefits of social media campaigns are rewriting the rules of marketing. But so much is happening so fast that it’s impossible to keep track of all the options. The good news is that you don’t have to boil the ocean. Effective social media campaigns require a disciplined approach to setting strategy, choosing tools and building customer affinity. Stay focused and you’ll be fine. In this presentation, you will learn:
* The strengths and weaknesses of the major social media platforms as marketing and public relations tools.
* How to choose the right tools for a campaign.
* Strategies for tracking performance and measuring success.
The document discusses how the digital landscape has changed significantly over the past decade, with social media and smartphones now ubiquitous. It recommends that businesses focus on actively engaging in the digital world by listening, monitoring social media, having social media policies and strategies, and embracing transparency and collaboration online. The future holds rising opportunities around data analytics, location-based apps and services, and augmented reality technologies.
Social media is changing how people interact with each other and do business. It allows for broadcast messages to become interactive dialogues. While using social media is inevitable, businesses must decide how effectively to engage with customers on these new channels. An integrated social media strategy can generate revenue, promote products, improve customer service, and foster innovation if businesses listen to customers, consistently engage across multiple platforms, and address any crises rapidly. The most engaged brands on social media saw 18% revenue growth compared to a 6% loss for the least engaged brands.
Social media plays a very powerful role in how you build audience and share your story. OTC Markets and PCG Advisory Group host an insightful, how-to webinar on the impact social media can have on emerging, public companies.

According to Nielsen, 72% of Gen Z will pay more for a product or service that has a social impact. Specifically participants will learn:

These slides are highlights of the many public and private talks and presentations I deliver.

What’s one of the first things you do before you buy something? You go online and look for reviews, recommendations, advice – some type of social proof that validates your decision right? Despite the powerful influence of these social networks and communities of interest, brands continue to expand their social footprint rather than going to the places where decisions about their products and services are made. The biggest challenge brands face today is not what social network to join but how to decide what conversations across the vast social web to pay attention to.
In a presentation packed with actionable insights into leveraging the influence of the social web, you will learn how to:
1) Identify the most relevant conversations and decision-driving communities
2) Join the most critical conversations and add value
3) Leverage brand advocates and influencers
4) Measure the impact of social influence activities
