Avni Kulkarni is one such passionate intern who did her recent marketing
internship at Awaken the Genius. Let's hear it from her what she has to say about
her experience in the organization.
1. Tell us more about you, your interests, your college and things
you're passionate about
Well, it is indeed a pleasure to tell about myself. I am Avni Kulkarni, studying in
the third year of Engineering at College of Engineering, Pune, pursuing a B.Tech
degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

3. Curiosity and creativity de ne me. I love to be challenged and my best skill, I
presume is to accept what life throws at me and mould it in the best possible
way. I feel time is the most important resource of any individual and so shall be
used judiciously. One should be hungry for acquiring knowledge. Positivity, I feel
is a mankind’s greatest asset.
I am a fresher to the industry and look forward to get an industry exposure to
new opportunities with hard-work, self-con dence and exibility to achieve
astounding results. As an individual, my favorite pastime is to read and listen to
music which energizes me in and out, keeping the fun element alive. I love to
swim and spend time with my pet, Oscar, exploring beautiful new places to seek
and enjoy solitude. I am always look forward to meet new people and delve into
their stories.
2. When did you give appear for NTAT exam and how was your
experience in answering the ticklish questions?
I did not appear for the NTAT examination. As there was no NTAT taking place in
2017 at Pune this year. I went for the one-year module wherein I was provided
constant support from the Switch Idea team until I got my internship at Awaken
the Genius.

4. 3. As an Engineering student, what made you apply to Sales and
Marketing Internship at Awaken the Genius?
Marketing is getting people to know, like and trust you. Whereas Sales, is helping
them con gure, choose and pay for what is offered.
When I was of the budding age, the facilities were limited. The online sites aimed
at providing information required, not taking into consideration whether the
student received complete understanding of the subject. “Work smart” wasn’t put
to practice. Awaken The Genius provides two effective solutions, the rst being
reading speeds which monitors the exact speed of an individual needed to grasp
a course and second of which is the latest and most interesting feature used by
multinationals - Mind Maps, to enhance the productivity of the students and
equip them with techniques to face challenges of the unknown future. These two
skills are the crucial ingredients in the evolution and personality development of
a student.
4. Tell us more about your internship
Awaken The Genius has more than a decade experience as a personal line
student study skills improvement organization. Consistently ranked amongst
the highest in customer satisfaction and amplifying results, by its policyholders.

5. My term work at the internship was to extensively interact with people from all
walks of life most of which were students, their parents and teachers. It was
designed to apply the knowledge gained from classroom instruction to the real
world by exposing yourself to essential responsibilities. I had to visit schools and
societies introducing to the students the importance of how, by changing the
way one feeds information in the brain, effective output can be obtained. When I
met a family, my main motive was to conduct a little exercise with them which
in turn led them to observe how the mind maps technique can increase their
memory power in turn saving time and energy. Some commonly used
techniques, such as underlining, rereading material, and using mnemonic
devices, are found to be of surprisingly low utility. So, this proved to be an
interactive study technique and a seamless and intuitive way of learning and
helping struggling students overcome the faults in their study method.
As a part of the internship, I also conducted a survey for the international
magazine, Synapsia.net where the data I collected was directly reported at the
head of ce in UK. The motto was to establish the faith in common people that
these 40 year old techniques, also globally proven and tested will help the
students gain con dence by scoring well in the examinations. It will also provide
meaningful gains in classroom performance, achievement test scores, and many
other tasks students will encounter across their lifespan.
4. How do you think that this internship will add a valuable
experience to your career?
No matter how much education one may attain, right marketing internship is
perhaps more important than attaining an internship in any another discipline.
Marketing is the science of monetizing people. Business landscape changes
rapidly and this sector, helps you know the market. To analyse and develop the
market story. It also helps you to illustrate an abstract problem and highlight the
customers who bene t. A potential market results in potential buyers and so we
need to be thorough with our approach towards the industry in order to survive.
One needs to build curiosity and seek out for the dissatis ed than disinterested.
This helped me brush my strategies and tactics in a lean plan to t the objective.
So, it undoubtedly was an invaluable experience to work with the team.

6. 5. What tips would you give to students pursuing their Engineering?
The advice which I would like to give students in the engineering branch of
study is that marketing yourself as a good representative is equally necessary in
today’s ever-emerging era. The learning I would like to pass on is that the
corporate world is an army of clones, hence we should opt for differentiation and
rather pursue than attract. One needs to let go of tunnel vision and accommodate
with what is available to make your expertise more visible. So let us expose
ourselves to learn and grow.
