This is part of our lesson in Philosophy of Language. This covers parts of the Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigation and Brenner's commentaries on Wittgenstein's work, along with my choice of illustrations and pictures.
Multiples, Multiplicity & The Multitude - Stokes Endowment Lecture - George W...Université de Montréal
This invited lecture for the Stoke Endowment dedicated to families and family therapy at GWU udpated my model of cultural family therapy published 15 years earlier in "A Stranger in the Family: Culture, Famlies, and Therapy" (NY: WW Norton, 1997).
Why I Love Wittgenstein #1: Private Language and SolipsismnoiseTM
How the iconic philosopher's brilliantly subtle and original thoughts on language can be used to dispel a two-thousand year old philosophical problem. Possibly a misappropriation and possibly an oversimplification, but what the gee-whizz. I love Wittgenstein.

The Mental Health Commission of NSW, Australia hosted a public lecture on 21 March 2016 by US-based psychiatrist and advocate for “more humble, humane and honest” psychiatry, Dr Sandra Steingard.
The lecture was held in Sydney and focused on ‘slow psychiatry’, which Dr Steingard describes as the integration of ‘need-adapted’ models of mental health care such as Open Dialogue with the use of psychoactive agents in a “cautious and humble way”.
Dr. Sandra Steingard is Medical Director at Howard Center, a community mental health organisation where she has worked for the past 17 years. Named among the “Best Doctors in America", she is also clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. For more than 20 years, her clinical practice has primarily included patients who have experienced psychosis. She regularly writes for Mad in America, an online resource and community for those interested in rethinking psychiatric care in the United States and abroad. Dr. Steingard is Board Secretary for the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care.

20130314 - Historical sources and data in the digital ageGerben Zaagsma
This is a lecture on historical sources and data in the digital age, given at the digital humanities bootcamp at Utrecht University (13-15 March 2013).
20130107 - Introduction: On Digital HistoryGerben Zaagsma
This is an introduction to the topic of 'digital history' intended to provide a framework for discussion at the digital history workshop that was held on 7 January 2013 at the Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts & Sciences).
I focus mostly on issues affecting historical research, and not on the changing nature of academic publishing. As far as research is concerned this paper argues that two main issues need to be addressed with regard to doing history in the digital age: 1) the further development of a digital source criticism; 2) education of current and future historians, if the full potential of new technologies is to be realised. Both issues are hardly new but perhaps more urgent than ever. More broadly speaking I will argue that these issues should be seen in the context of a tendency in digital humanities towards technological determinism that needs to be balanced with more attention to methodological and epistemological considerations.

• Intermediality and the supplementary relation
between subject and media always hinges on the
notion of becoming. Becoming holds an «in‐

presence that invites an analysis to the process of
intermediality ......as an opening up but also a
crossing‐over.
