This document outlines the vision, mission, and values of insideOUT, a progressive faith community located in Oakland, CA. The vision is to reform what it means to follow Jesus in the 21st century and gather friends seeking meaning and authenticity. The mission is to create an authentic community that celebrates each person's spiritual journey without imposing doctrine, and is compelled to celebrate knowledge within the community while pursuing social and ecological justice. The values include spiritual vitality, intellectual curiosity, authentic living, finding new forms of spirituality, and experiencing Christ's transforming love.

2. VISION Born from a shared vision of the possibilities for progressive faith community, we are a catalyst for the 21st century reformation of what it means to follow in the Way of Jesus. Our progressive commitments meet our deepest spiritual longings and compel us to gather friends and neighbors in Oakland CA in authentic community.

3. MISSION This vision to propel the next wave of what it means to be believers - gathers those in the Bay Area seeking meaning, purpose, and authenticity into a new way of being the body of Christ.

4. MISSION We know that one size does not fit all. We see the damage inflicted by rigid ideologies. We know that vitality is not reflected in having the right answer or believing that ours is the only way. To create this safe place to call a spiritual home we honor each one’s spiritual journey without imposing irrelevant religious doctrine.

5. MISSION We are compelled to celebrate knowledge that arises in the community. We are propelled by our zeal for social and ecological justice. We seek to shape our lives like Christ’s by taking delight in our full humanity and follow his example of compassion by transforming the world one neighborhood at a time.
