We believe that there is a strong and profound connection between the design of learning environments and student development. Like a well designed tool, innovative schools can enhance the teaching environment, stimulate student performance and foster a lifelong love of learning. We are interested in helping schools design facilities for the 21st century learner. These new schools are vibrant, energetic environments that emphasize personalization, multiple modes of learning, personal responsibility and achievement while avoiding the atmosphere of mass produced education. Purpose Driven Design Insight believes that educational architecture should be in the service of learning, health, sustainability and community. We believe that school design should be based on three general ideas: (1) learning is a lifelong process; (2) design is always evolving; and (3) resources are limited. Inclusive Design Process Insight Architects believes that a school should serve as a center of the community and result from a planning and design process that involves all community interests. Too often the community and users of a school perceive that they can only rubber stamp decisions already made by administrators, board members, or planners and architects. If a school is to truly represent the needs and desires of its users and the community, and allow them to take ownership of the facility, then they need to be involved in the planning and design process. Insight Architects embraces a collaborative design approach with extensive student, teacher, administrator and community involvement. Environmental Stewardship Insight Architects is committed to environmentally friendly and resource sustainable design. We believe that architecture provides an opportunity to enhance our relationship with the natural world and can help create a legacy for the next generation that we can all be proud of.
