2. BRIEF
• As a group we have came up with many ideas of what our horror movie will be based on,
a lot of our ideas are heavily influenced on famous horror films such as Saw, Paranormal
activity, Descent , The Exorcist and Scream etc. In the next couple of slides I will discuss

3. IDEAS
A super natural horror movie is generally based on spirits and ghosts which will play a part in
a humans life, usually they show the scary affect at has on an individual or group and which
cant be solved by a scientific explanation. Some famous super natural films are Dracula,
Halloween and The Grudge. In recent times super natural horrors are becoming ever more
popular due to the interest in this topic.
The idea we came up with is based on a group of friends who are interested in the unknown
aspects of life and want to learn more about death and after life, they than decide to use a
ougia board which will answer their questions, what they don’t see coming to them is after
they use it one of the friends has a bad experience and becomes possessed by a poltergeist
which then drives him insane and then kills his friends and then finally himself.

A psychological horror relies on character's fears, guilt, beliefs many films in this genre use
great aspects such as eerie sound effects, relevant music, emotional instability and at times
to add to the scary affect to make it be a physiological horror. Some examples of these film
types is Gothinka, The Ring and Silent Hill.
A story line for a psychological horror could be a group of friends who are going for a campout
in the woods for the weekend. What they don’t know is that the woods is haunted and they
continuously are getting creped out by unnatural sounds, one of their member of the friends
are seeing things etc. The reason for all this happening was long ago one of the members
family members died in this wood a hundred years ago and they keep seeing signs related to

5. OTHER GENRES WITHIN HORROR
• Slasher film - A type of horror film typically involving a psychopathic killer stalking and
killing a sequence of victims in a graphically violent manner, often with a cutting tool such
as a knife or axe. Slasher films may at times overlap with the crime, mystery and thriller
genre. Examples of this genre include, Black Christmas, Halloween, The Texas Chain
Saw Massacre, Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Friday the 13th, Child's Play
and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
• Zombie film - Zombies films have creatures who are usually portrayed as either
reanimated corpses or mindless human beings. Distinct sub-genres have evolved, such
as the "zombie comedy" or the "zombie apocalypse". Examples include, Resident Evil,
Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, The Evil Dead[32], I Am Legend, Land of the Dead,
Night of the Living Dead, Quarantine and The Return of the Living Dead.
• Science Fiction horror - Often revolving around subjects that include but are not limited
to killer aliens, mad scientists, and/or experiments gone wrong. Examples are Allien,
Apollo 18, it came from outer space.
