Guillermo del Toro is a renowned Mexican filmmaker, actor and author known for directing award-winning films such as Pan's Labyrinth, The Shape of Water, and the Hellboy franchise. Filmmaker, actor and author, del Toro has been
involved in the production of many notable and award-
winning films such as Pinocchio (2022), The Hobbit: An
Unexpected Journey (2012), The Hobbit: The
Desolation of Smaug (2013), The Hobbit: The Battle of
the Five Armies (2014), Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
(2019), Roald Dahl's The Witches (2020), Crimson
Peak (2015), Hellboy (2004) and many more.
Del Toro collaborates with Dreamworks Animation quite
frequently, acting as a writer, director, producer and
creative consultant. He was the executive producer for
Puss in Boots (2011), Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), Rise of
the Guardians (2012) and Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016).
For these productions, del Toro had acted several
different crew member roles, sometimes more than one
role at once. For example, in the production of
Pinocchio del Toro acted as the writer, producer and
co-director (alongside Mark Gustafson).

Del Toro had a fascination for filmmaking at a young
age when he first started to create short-films at age 8
using his father's Super 8 camera to record short-films
where he used Planet of the Apes toys and other
objects as characters.
Around 10 short-films were made bfore del Toro
received his first feature film, two of which are avaliable
to watch, Dona Lupe and Geometria.
His first feature film was released in 1993 and named
Cronos.
Del Toro is also the co-founder of the Guadalajara
International Film Festival.
With creating his own films, he also studied special-
effects and make-up with special-effects artist Dick
Smith, spending 10 years as a special-effects make-up
designer causing him to create his own company
named Necropia.

Known as one of the most influential people in
cinema's history, Hitchcock was a very successful
director. Winning two Golden Globes, eight Laurel
Awards, five Lifetime Achievement Awards, the first
ever BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award and he
wasnominated on five occasions for the Academy
Award for Best Director.
On the 8th of February 1960 Alfred Hitchcock was
given not one, but two stars on the Hollywood Walk
of Fame, one star for television and the other for his
motion picture work.
Entertainment Weekly ranked Hitchcock as their
number one in its 1996 edition of the 50 Greatest
Directors list. He was also ranked as number one in
Total Film magazine's 100 Greatest Film
Directors and number 2 on Empire magazine's Top
40 greatest film directors of all time.

5. Sir Alfred Hitchcock
Hitchcock had a large interest in watching films,
specifically American ones. He also took up an interest
in creative writing which he perused when in June of
1919 he became a founding editor and business
manager of Henley's in-house publication. While in this
job he found out that a production studio was opening in
London. The production studio was owned by Famous-
Players Lasky which was a production arm of
Paramount Pictures. Hitchcock produced some drawing
of title cards for their production of The Sorrows of
Satan and sent them to the studio which promoted them
to hire him.
However, in 1922 Paramount Pictures removed
their studio from London but Hitchcock was soon hired
by Michael Balcon as an assistant director at
Gainsborough Productions.
Balcon, impressed by Hitchcock's work later asked him
to direct The Pleasure Garden in the summer of 1925.
