Nishank Bhati and Aditi Rathore are the first students from the Fabindia school in rural Rajasthan, India to attend a summer program in the United States. They spent three weeks at the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut studying environmental science, where they learned to identify trees, measure bark, and test water quality. While there were some initial nerves, both students quickly made new friends and enjoyed activities like hiking, canoeing, and swimming. The experience provided both students with exposure to a different educational system and culture that emphasizes hands-on learning. The Fabindia school was founded to promote girls' education and now educates nearly 1,000 students from rural communities in Rajasthan
