Sri Ramakrishna Samagra Shikshana Kendra in Bangalore, India is an integrated school for mentally challenged, hearing impaired, and normal children. The school aims to help the children correct themselves and face society confidently. One of the school's projects was called "Say No to Crackers" from 2007-2008. Students researched the money spent and environmental hazards of firecrackers. They realized burning crackers indirectly burns money. The eco club then educated students on the dangers of crackers. As a result, high school students began giving up firecrackers and spending money on clothes and sweets instead.

2. INTRODUCTION
Sri Ramakrishna Samagra Shikshana Kendra, (Primary and
High School) Gottigere, Bannerughatta Road, Bangalore-83. Is an
Integrated school of mentally challenged (border line) dumb and
hearing impaired along with normal children. This has helped the
children to Correct themselves and face the society boldly.
We would like to write to you that our school has already
started creating awareness taking up one problem as a Project and
spread the message to society and trying humbly in our own way
to change the attitude of the people.

3. PROJECT-4 TOPIC 2007-08
“ SAY NO TO CRACKERS ”
The student leaders of each class collected information about
money spent for the purchase of Crackers after seeing the list. One
of the student came out with an idea, what happen if we burn the
one Rupee note directly in the lamp infront of our parents and see
their reaction. Deffenatly no body like the idea of burning money.
But burning crackers is indirectly burning money itself. Then the
members of our Eco club collected information about the hazards of
crackers and then they explained it to the students of our school .
[ High School ] This message reached our children , thus since 2007-08
students have slowly given up burning crackers instead of that they
are spending the money for their dress and sweets.
